Searching the forum I see some posts that say all 67 HO cars had the fuel filter on the manifold. Have we dispelled that rumor, and when Pontiac made the change to the hard line straight to the carb, they did it on all cars?

I’m changing my intake plumbing to 67 QJet. Using a 68 intake and 71-2 big vent qjet. Manual brake car, no AC. 4 speed. I’ve never liked the OG setup I put together years ago to fit with a 65 setup. In post 2 the 3rd pic. Back of carb shot. I need the molded PCV hose, steel line/bracket off the carb stud manifold vac port that goes to the vac advance, and the brass fitting that’s never listed. I think it might look like the pic I’ve included.

I also like the early 67 fuel line that lays the fuel filter on top of the intake. A fuel pressure gauge would fit nicely there perhaps in place of a redundant filter. Has a short steel piece going into the carb. I’d use the small cartridge style. Not doing a return line.

Also, I’m replacing all the rubber fuel hose connectors. They’re 10-15 years old now. New Gates Barricade rubber.

Here is a recent '67 I rebuilt going in a GTO, automatic trans, no A/C. The fuel line from Ames would not fit, the upper bend was too tight, and section from the carb was almost kinked, so bent new pieces following the Ames line as guide. This car had the one piece line with return off the pump. This car had sat for years and the threads at the carb inlet were rotted. I had to cut the carb back about .180" and thread the hole deeper, then add an extended reach fitting. All this didn't leave room for a filter so we swapped to the early fuel filter setup.

Pump is the later one with a return, it's new so we will run it for awhile. I like the filter up top with the return, it should help out if it vapor locks. Not sure if the bottom pulley should be blue or black, I just figured blue due to the way it's assembled. maybe they added the weight and pulleys after it was painted, but that seems like a extra step.
