That would be cool IMO, a 74 Ventura... meh, not so much. Tell me why I'm wrong...

Well, it's a granny car, but there's something just inexplicably delightful about it exactly as she sits.

I've owned a couple bare bones I6 250 CID 2-door coupe Novas. First was a light green 69 with a powerglide, and later a medium blue 73 hatchback with a TH350. Kicked the timing up by ear and both were zippy enough to enjoy.

As a mechanic when these were common, I've probably driven hundreds. They're nimble and comfortable.

This one has nice colors and the aforementioned near-museum quality preservation. Pontiac styling beats the Nova any day, especially this year getting the 67-8 Firebird tail lights.

My take: Do Not Disturb. Drive it to local Coffee and Cars events. Be a "steward" of this particular relic.

I'd gladly own this over a 74 GTO.

As to your 69 Sprint dream, they came with floor shifter. You'd need an exceedingly rare base OHC6 car with 3 on the tree manual, and upgrade that car with a Sprint engine.

I've never seen one in person.

Yeah, I wouldn't care about being factory correct on a car I'm adding options to. I just want the three speed on the tree, and maybe I find a Sprint engine. Seems like a perfect combo with a posi.

64 GTO clone at $25K in CA. Has an aggressive cam, which probably means it's lopey, runs poorly, and loud, as the patina would suggest. Put on a stock air cleaner and hood, and then you start down the money pit. It is a CA car tho, so prolly rust free, and that has value.

62 Bonneville NM convertible 425A (1 of 248) in Washington at $70K BIN. I would think most of the cars ordered with this option were hardtops.

63 Grand Prix 4-speed that runs and has a lot of new parts in CA at $12K BIN. Someone save it before any more mods have started.

69 Firebird 350 (Chevy) in Illinois at $55K BIN. Interesting color and a nice looking car, but very overpriced IMO.

72 GTO 4-speed in Texas at $75K BIN. Judge clones typically state "Judge" in the header, and then point out it's a clone in the description. This car never claims to be a real Judge, but it also doesn't state it's a clone. Decisions were made, and this car went thru a full frame off. The decision to make it a clone was a poor one IMO, maybe in hindsight, because when the Judge wings hit the market it was all the rage to make a clone. Now it seems there's more Judge clones than real GTO's. So this car is stuck in the middle for me regarding its value. It's not a real Judge and doesn't have Ram Air, tho the hood says it does. The air cleaner is an odd choice, but it's better than a chrome Edelbrock or a Buick 400-4 sticker on a 70 dual snorkel. It's a beautiful car and I have no doubt the asking is what the builder has in it. Question is, would you be in for a clone at $75K? Right now, the prices on classic cars is coming down. I know it's not across the board, and cars like these are desirable, but a lot of people don't want the "LOOK AT ME" graphics and wing. When you see a Honda with a wing and a fart pipe, do you say to yourself, cool? So it's a really nice and rare 72 GTO with a very cool phat padded steering wheel that's had a frame off. What else could you buy for $75K? IMO, this car is going to hard to find a buyer for it. Beautiful car tho... I like looking at it, but it doesn't fit the Boomer vibe I want to be stereotyped as by driving it, I'd rather just drive a GTO, but that's me.

Looking a little closer, the passenger's side exhaust is hanging pretty low to the street. Maybe some sparks fly on speed bumps?

78 Trans AM 4-speed in Pennsylvania at $100 NR. Looks like they used a chainsaw to install the stereo.

Interesting Pontiac 287 powered 1957 Byers SR-100 on BAT. Based on an early 1950's Ford Chassis, I see A/C Ace body lines in it. The detachable Hard tops looks don't do anything for me. but it is a very interesting vintage build to my eyes.

What does everyone else think?

Pretty car. With the hardtop on it sorta looks like an XKE.
