Default Offenhauser Dual Quad Intake #5499 ('65 and later heads)

I have an Offenhauser #5499 dual quad intake manifold for 1965 and newer heads for sale. It is in excellent almost new condition with nearly no pitting from water corrosion. The ports are untouched. It accepts WCFB carbs directly and includes the adapters for AFB-style carbs. I have removed the exhaust heat crossover and had a piece of aluminum bar-stock milled to the same thickness as the manifold flange to make block-off plates from. They just need to be cut out. I would do it, but don't have access to a band saw which is the easiest/best way to do it. The ports on one side have been marked with a Sharpie for a gasket match to a Ram Air IV flange but have not been cut. There is a small notch on the outside of the manifold that's ground into the #1 intake port that I assume was made for linkage clearance. It is shown in the first picture. There are new gaskets under the adapter plates. Asking $350 and will ship to lower 48 for $25. Located in East Texas. Limited to 5 pictures but can provide more upon request.

Default 1963 Doghouse for sale

My front end was year incorrect when I purchased the car (mines a number matching 64, with a 63 front end). So I’m selling the 1963 Catalina hood, both front fenders, front bumper and grill.

I’m located in La Porte, IN. I’m willing to travel within reason. Not all images fit in the upload. You are more than welcome to text me with offers or call 219-814-3504.

Just to let you know this is the Tempest Lemans forum. There's a different section to list big car parts. You'll have better luck there.

I also have a 421 HO block and O heads, 63 Tripower unit completely restored by Mike Wasson of pontiactripowers.com a couple 326/336 blocks PS, PB, auto floor shifter other body parts coming off this HT. Let me know - can deliver to Norwalk. Want to restore this HT- I'll make a deal. It's posted on the forums.

Thanks-

Hi Pat,

The easiest way to upgrade to a V8 is to find a parts car that came with this engine combination:
1. Engine, will want to use the front cross member and associated motor mounts from the V8 car. Also will need the flywheel, bellhousing, starter, alternator, and power steering brackets from the V8 Car.
2. Torque tube, the diameter is different, meant to handle the extra torque
3. Transmission:
a. If a manual, can only use the 3 speed which was derived from a larger car Borg Warner design. The 4 speed which came from an earlier Corvair design isn't robust enough to handle the torque.
b. If an automatic, the 4 cylinder powerglide has a smaller clutch pack and won't handle the V8's torque. Would need to use the transmission from the V8 car
c. Transaxle, the drive ratio needs to be different in the V8 car as the torque and power is greater which means you'll need to change this as well.

As you can see, it's a major undertaking which may be worth it depending on how much you enjoy the car and how much benefit you'd get from the increase power and drivability.

Let us know what you eventually decide.
