It is a shame the WOT position of the sec blades on the QJ was not changed. Also the WOT position of the Air Valve. Might have made up, or beaten, the 10 hp difference of the 950 carb. T
The huge 2.25" t/blades of the QJ would have some effect on air flow/ distribution.

The TQ cars used by Chrys has the same 2.25" blades. Testing done by Chrys found that with a dual plane intake, best angle at WOT was 81*; for a single plane, 88*.
The sec blades on the TQ open in the opposite direction to the QJ, so 81* means the blades hanging below the carb point inwards towards the centre of the carb.
Does it make a difference? Hell yeah! Largest sec jets on a stock TQ are 0.143". With the above & a Offy Port-O-Sonic single plane intake, 0.169" jets are reqd!

On a Chrys 440 with Trick Flow heads & a production 850 cfm TQ, changing the AV position made a noticable HP difference. Engine made 605 hp.

WOT of the air valve tab was tweaked to be perpendicular throttle blades also. I was shocked on my fairly stock extra 73 SD Q jet the air valves do NOT open completely as the air valve spring hits the rod to the pull off when you push them open! You can see the bracket tab after I bent it to get the air valves WOT.First picture pull off off but valves shut. Second how close the tab is even bent!
