assuming the tires were manufactured after 2000, the last four digits "1015" would be the 10th week of 2015. Seems kind of new but maybe he just replaced them to get the car safe to drive.

Thanks, but these tires have been on the car since at least 2010. That's what's confusing.

My vote is find original poly's and don't go over 35mph. I have originals on two of my cars and they don't drive that bad.

There are 11 characters, made before 2000. 1st week of '95.

the blem means there is something wrong with the white letters. I worked at a tire store while in high school and was taught a lot of things. I would buy blems any time I could, didn't look that bad, handled just as good, but saved some good money.

The only other 72 TA's i can recall right off with deluxe cloth interior were the Black Special Paint 4spd AC Pwr Window car - and the Red SCCA car.

PY member supcarbob had direct affiliation with Monk King Pontiac.
He has shared quite a few Invoices from there - some were very unusual.
He might could even produce their copy of "original dealers invoice" for your car, to compliment the PHS copy.

He may also know what type dealer name ID might have been on the car in 1972.
If any at all.
Could possibly shed light on the date conflicts too.

They usually show the mileage of when retail consumer bought the car.

My take on the survivor definition. Meant to be driven without fear of rain or road dirt. It gets more points for "more surviving" as its driven to shows?

I was at a Judged show for the co-vention and the survivors class was getting judged. They pull up in golf carts and ask "any thing new since last time" answer nope and they move on.

Here's the protecto plate. It's a much later date than Nov. '71 delivery to the dealership.

Is the 21235 stated on the Protect-O-Plate the mileage when the car sold? If so, then Monk likely drove it as a demonstrator.

bird72 and Judge273, this car will definitely be driven. It runs and drives like a 3 year old car. It's really strong, and tight. It's already had it's share of dings and scratches in it's life so I'm not worried about that. I am a little worried about the brakes however since the original brake lines are still on the car, so it won't be driven to shows... across the country .

I am picking up the original F60-15 Goodyears to put on the KR Rally II wheels to really dial in the personality and character of the original feel this car has. For driving I have a brand new set of BFG's on some beautiful honeys. Will get pictures soon when bottom fluff is complete and it comes off the stands.

I can relate to the likeness of a classic Les Paul... She definitely has a personality all her own, and makes a beautiful note when started! I need to get some picks of the pee shooter squished exhaust pipes running under the pans, haha.

No, 21 235 is Monk King Pontiac's dealership code.
Forgot to add, 4 was the mileage.

Ransom is right, naturally, about dealer code - and only 4 miles on car.

I was curious if maybe someone there used the car as their personal transportation, or a demo / test drive template.

Was probably more like the crown jewel inside the showroom.
Maybe placed out on front line once in a while as a magnet.
Bob may actually remember this car defacto since it was there for quite a while - for whatever real reason.
He has one heck of a memory of back in the day.

They sold a lot of strippers too.

The other reason the original Goodyear Polyglas are going on the car is so she'll show real nice at this year's Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN)!

YES! Just got notice this evening that she's been accepted to be judged in the Vintage Certification Program.

The reason it sat on the lot so long is proberly because that at the time it was on the lot we were going through our 1st. gas crisis & I remember it well as we were all sitting in gas lines trying to get our $ 5.00 of gas on sunday so we could all get to school & work. We could only get $ 5.00 of gas at a time at that time. Because of that the cars with big engines didn't get sold very quickly. It took a good salesman to sell a car that only got 10 miles to the gal , because at the price of .42 cent a gal. gas was expensive. You only got about 10 gallons of gas for the $ 5.00 back then so you had to watch your money just in case the gas went up another couple of cents. I know went I bought/ well ordered my 73 GTO the salesman tried to talk me into a smaller car so I could get better milage, but I got my 73 GTO instead. If your not old enough to remember this , then find a guy or gal that was old enough to drive & own a car back then & they can explain it to you better. I can't tell you how many gas lines I had to sit in to be able to get gas so we could go & run the streets at night & not run out of gas going to work & school the next day.
