Default Road Ready?

Road Ready?...Well not really, but we had to take her for a cruise....Karl Bick has her front end aligned and it was my job to check her out....Thanks Karl....perfect! ...
Lookin' pretty good if I say so myself...

With no windshield....this car gives a whole new meaning to the phrase...."Air Conditioning Works Well"...

Default Her Trip Home.

Cleaning the windshield is a must....
Keeping one's mouth shut when not only driving this LeMans, but listening to the "Pypes" is hard to do....Not to mention playing with the Dual Gate Shifter.....2 much fun!!...
We brought her home today. She handles just as I anticipated! accelerates, steers, stops just as she should....She made me so happy!

We are ready to go to paint! This Beauty needs a fresh coat of 1989 Chevrolet Camaro "Blu". This is our next move...then interior, wheels and tires....Then it should be real close to..."Admiration Time"...

Oh my "Babe Blu" ...How can you ask such a thing? By all means!...

Took some time yesterday to begin cleaning all the Stainless on the LeMans...
Also wire brushed the trunk for paint and found two small areas that need some attention at the body shop....

***NOTE***...I plan on selling all the OEM parts I removed from this car. Everything from the Core Support to a complete set of chrome trim and badges. As far as the bumpers, I will be selling the rear for sure. I will wait to see just how good the front is before I make a decision on it.
I hope to make a complete list with photos and post....If anyone has any desire for something special....let me know....

Default Off to Paint she goes!

Off to paint she goes! Removed the Torque Thrust D wheels and tires. Installed the stock Pontiac wheels...when she is done, I will restore the original Poncho wheels with new centers and polish the trim rings....Might just look good with them...

May get started tomorrow removing all the side glass and the rest of the trim along with the window felt...Let's do this thing....

Also purchasing all the needed material and paint to completely restore the Rally II wheels....If I don't use them, they should be a great thing to sell...$$

Default And So It Begins

Started at Basic Body and Paint in Chalmers, Indiana. Have her up on the lift. Needed to remove door glass in order to remove the old window felt....
Then Clark Gick began the task of evaluating just what kind of shape she really is...

Worked on the bumpers for the '71....

Rear is new and the front is the original. I had to do some straightening. It may just pass for good enough...I'll wait for that decision once I bolt it on the car. If not good enough.....

...the original front and the rear will be for sale...$...

Kurt,
Bumpers look great. Was the rear not good enough condition to re-chrome?

Thanks WC,
Yes it is, but I thought new rear would be a better way to go. The photo shows where the bad spots are on both original bumpers
.

This is as good as I can get the front without either a re chromed or new. I'll get it bolted on the car before making that decision....
