71 GTO convertible in Massachusetts at $20.1K NR. Pretty cool 1 year only Sierra interior color. I've never seen a front end so badly rusted on a car that otherwise doesn't look too rusted? Prolly a fire caused it. These hoods are so long it really stresses out the buckle points in front of the hood springs. Hard to find a good original. Claims 67K original miles.

74 Firebird with a rebuilt 455 and claims to have $30K in it. Looks like a lot of the hard work was done already. $14K BIN OBO in NY.

I like this one. 71 Pontiac Ventura at $7500 BIN in NC. Has some deep rust issues, but it runs and needs brakes. I like the patina, but the pass side 1/4 window looks rough. This isn't the car you want to take on restore. The metal work this car needs would be far too costly unless you did it all. Worth it IMO if you like these Novaish cars. Once we get into the $7500 range, this is the kind of car that's available.

Here's an eBayism I never told you about. You can order custom neon signs from China by doing a search on Customize LED Neon Sign. I can't remember which vendor I used, but I ordered a 69 Wings Down Phoenix based on a picture of the chrome emblem. They came back with an expected result, I agreed and the following picture it what I received. It's pretty cool and cost me about $300 years ago... not sure what it would be now, but pretty cheap. You could have a custom neon based on your car for prolly less than $400. The one next (80 bird) to it is sold on eBay and sells for about $360 https://www.ebay.com/itm/11185923558...oAAOSwIlBeh0hE

69 Firebird NR in OK. No feedback so I'd see it before I bought it, but could be a good deal if it's legit. A couple of inside pics and one wheel and that's it.

The 69 Carousel Red NR in OK'; doesn't sound from description that pictures match its current description. ("removed vinyl top as there were bubbles showing underneath"). On the other hand, Carousel Red '69 Birds is cool : )

Here's a 69 Firebird no engine with a reserve that's pretty loaded at $1K in NY... including the uber rare leather interior. Are those seats stock?

Looks like leather was specified originally, based on the documentation.

Is that what a 69 Firebird leather seat looked like? Looks like the seat is mostly cloth.

Very nicely optioned car. Worth restoring... if the original stuff were with it. So yeah - would be a must to negotiate a package deal.

What may be a more rare option was power seats. I’ve seen a leather seat car before but, never a power seat one. |

I've never seen a verifiable claim on the leather option for either year, but I would think the 69 number was considerably less than 903. Remember too that the color and the code were different for the 2 years. In my 45 years of being involved with Firebirds, I've seen only one 68 leather car in person, a 68 coupe at Atlantic City auction back in '82, and one convertible on the net a couple years ago which I screencapped. Of 69s, I bought a used leather interior about 20 years ago from George Olsen who'd parted a 400 coupe, I've seen photos of Scott M's 69 Sprint coupe, saw a convertible at POCI Springfied (94?) with a leather code but white interior, a couple listed on eBay and a couple of Comanches here on PY. I did see one for sale in person, can't recall when or where, a 350 HO coupe with hood tach. Less than 10 I can recount. Last edited by einstein; 01-17-2022 at 06:33 PM. |
