Awesome progress and damn impressive MPH too ! What is your RW ?

Sorry to Hijack Ernie!
Take a 400,428, or 455 block, get it to 461-474cid
4.25" stroke, 6.800" rods, forged Pistons, good rings
Set Compression between 10.5 and 11.5:1
Use SD's Old Faithful on a 112LSA 108ilc for more low end
Or 110*ilc for more top end
Use Scorpion Short Travel Hyd Roller Lifters
SB 5/16 .116 wall pushrods and Harland Sharp 1.65" rockers
Get a Set of SD's 295-305cfm CNC ported cylinder Heads
Get an RPM intake, i Modify the Plenum and Port mine for more HP
But if you have no hood clearance get a Ported Torquer 2
And get a Holley XP 950, or any 1000cfm 4150 holley type carb
Use 1-3/4 Long Tube Headers, and a Good HEI Dizzy

Trans-Build up a 350 or 400 trans, and if manual use a Strong 5-6 speed!
use a Jim Hand Special
Continental or Similar 32-3500 converter with Anti Ballooning plates, of course if you can afford an Overdrive Trans Go For It
Then either Build up a 8.5" ten bolt or get a Dana 60 or Ford 9"
Minimum Gear Ratio would be 2.73-3.08, Max would be 3.42-3.73 with overdrive trans
A good fuel system, Roll bar, and some Sticky Tires
Should Be enough to get anything under 4500lbs into
The 11's!
The "Old Faithful" Combo :-)
Im done highjacking, sorry!

So Ernie,
I believe you've mentioned here, or another thread about getting you car into the 10's. What's your thoughts about what path you might take to get there???
I'm asking this, as you are ironing out your return to the T2 intake, and such...

Never really left the Torker 2..only for a Cpl months last year.
Without swapping gearing and convertor..it is a challenge..For this year I'm just concentrating on the 60 foots..a squirter change last time seemed to quicken initial throttle response so more carb tweaking, subtle suspension mods(I do still have stock suspension other than CE 3 ways),increasing initial timing and more minor weight reductions.I have thought about increasing compression..but I don't want to mess with the heads for a future project, pulling off my 2.5 tailpipes for possible restriction and weight savings, installing proper relay and wiring for my fuel pump and rerouting lines ,installing a shiftlight for consistant shifts, installing a line lock for consistant burnouts.
I really need more track time...wish I lived closer and had more time!

I'm currently just trying to do it the hard way...I enjoy the challenge..just when I get stumped or stalled another idea comes along..

I'm always open to test any ideas too..as Pontiac Derek has found out...keeping an open mind helps..

Posted this in the exhaust section too..I pulled my 2.5 inch PYPES tailpipes with splitters off last night.I want to see if there is a restriction...Cheap mod plus I dropped 20lbs of weight. It also gives me some room to reroute my fuel lines and hang my fuel pump a little lower. So my current exhaust consists of 1 3/4 inch Hooker Super Comps,3 inch PYPES X crossover, into 2.5 cone reducers into 2.5 inch Walker Ultraflows to a set of turndowns..

I think at your power level you'd benefit from 3" exhaust.

Looking to get in the 11.2's this year...Pontiac Derek's intake really helped drop et and gain mph..now just some tuning and cheap changes..

The Great thing about Cars and People Like Ernie, Cliff Ruggles, Dave Bisschop, And Jim Hand is if its the only thing you learn from them its that it takes Tuning, Driving, Racing and Testing in General to Maximize the Efficiency of your Combination!
Just bolting stuff together no matter how scienced out it seems you will not realize the full potential of your Setup!
This is not important to everyone, but its important to a lot of people and Nothing is better than some Yokel telling you thats impossible! Cant be done! Not with a Pontiac! Oh Yeah? Hmmm ;-) Watch Me!

Weather permitting I'm hoping this weekend to do some testing with no tailpipes...the next test after is a main body switch on my 950hp...switching to a 1050 mainbody with annular boosters.Hoping to do 1 or 2 track days a month for the rest of the year..

I think you'll pick up a tenth and realize your goal of 11.20s. Are you using a modified Torker 2 now?

I agree on the 11.20's..if the traction isn't there the mph will show the results..
Yes I picked up about a tenth and a 1.5 mph with a Torker 2 prepped by Pontiac Derek..before it usually ran 119's..ran one 120 with a good tailwind...last time at the track all 120's with one 121....just with the swap from a gasket matched and blended back torker 2 to the current Torker 2..everything else the same including jetting.

The Torker II seems to get overlooked by most unfortunately.

I won a lot of bracket races with a low-compression 455 topped by a stock Torker II and 650 DP Holley. I was nice getting some contingency prizes from Edelbrock too when I was winning.

It's a damn fine intake, especially so if Derek hits in just the right places with his grinder.

Nice going guys, the train just keeps on rollin'.
