They have been good to YOU. Thank you for proving my point with your own words. Your ox has not been gored. Your experiences have been good, ergo, they are "good people". Your opinion is subjective, and ignores the whole objective view including how other customers have been treated by them, and the course of action some of them have had to take to be "made whole" from whatever transaction they engaged in with them. People are judged by whom they make their associations. If a friend of mine were pulling some of the same shenannigans they have pulled, they'd get a stern talking to, and if they continued, I'd cut all ties to them. Birds of a feather.....

Tom, you are not one of the(you guys) I was referring to. I just thought your 261 post was good. Is that OK ? Brian, YES I will be in their corner, YES MY positive dealings with them. Why is it OK for you guys to post negative stuff about the Kauffman's, now I am a bad guy for saying that I have had good/great dealings with them. Isn't that hypocritical on your part Brian. I do deal with them and over the years I have dealt with most of the Pontiac engine builders. Some are good guys, some OK, some I will deal with when and if I have to.

here lyes the issue this really did happen its not a figment of DI,SKIP,SteveC's imagination!!! THINK about that this isn't a lie! They have produced the cold hard facts! it sucks this is happening ! DI was told to F-OFF long before he said anything! if i sold you a known or unknown bad part for 3000$ and you called and wanted to return it and get your money back and i said GET F***** you would be in that buisness entities forum so fast your head would spin! so why when you aren't in their shoes do you continually give them he** for stating the facts?? yes you had good experiences with them and continue to tell us about it yet if they ask questions and talk about the way their deal went down you get mad? these are public forums and there is no rule that you have to know someone directly to be able to talk to people that do. PS come down to the tiger run in bend or. and i will buy you lunch! good day!

Better put it in a safe place DI.

How can it be determined that statements of fact can harm a crook but not the crooks own behavior. Where do you draw the line between what you do to your self and your own image with your unethical and crooked behavior and the behavior of others trying to stop your behavior and recover damages,
If I cry out "STOP! THIEF!" and it causes a criminal to be apprehended should I then be allowed to be sued because he lost income and now has an image problem. Sounds like our public school system I'm still for the second amendment. It picks up the slack where the courts and the laws dont. STOP THIEF! two man enter one man leaves pontiac dude, You are right. Why does PY's moderators slam us in a public forum causing us ridicule hatred and harm. Why should we be shunned and avoided by right thinking people not due to our actions but due to the actions of moderators who intentionally post disrespectful and unflattering warnings. They do this with out due process and inconsistantly. and with out the opportunity of recourse. How you doing now autie bea. PY willing to risk all in support of you now? are there any unemployed lawyers in the house? I might have a job for you. Last edited by Pontirag; 05-13-2008 at 01:39 PM. |

Drunk'nInjun-I hope it all works out the best for you.
Bringing problems with any product out in the open is a benefit to all. Recent article on Hurst wheels showed his goal was to make the safest wheel out there and did want to know when they would fail. That is the correct business attitude, to accept problems and resolve them.

Very well put. Now this is a smart business man. Anything less than this, is poor business attitude. Jesus mistakes happen all the time, and we all know it was NOT done on purpose. All they had to do was go good on a few piddley ass pieces of metal. Not a big deal if done in the first place, not only that but then people would have thought WOW these guys are great to deal with and they would have been hero`s instead of chumps. Money lost on the bad crap, would have been money made in the end, and there would have been no end in sight. Now who knows, all because of a poor business decision. Now it does not matter what product they sell, some gomer is going to bring this up and tarnish it. Now what will happen is the people in the future that do not no about this, will read it, or hear it, and will not do business with them. In this day and age with mail order parts, the internet and what not, customer satisfaction is #1 or you have no customers. Jesus this is going around the world. Right or wrong, in the eyes of the people who do NOT know, they are wrong, that`s human nature. And when people think your wrong they won`t take a chance on there money with you. Sad Sad situation, for them not anybody else........................... |

I wonder how Consumer Reports gets by with negative things on products that are factual?
I guess I'm still waiting for that answer from John or Maurice how products advertised as one thing (specific hole sizes machined in house -cam bearing etc, wall thickness, PSI cast iron, ) not delivered as such are Ok and defamed if the actual measurements and problems are spoken of. Please still explain, other than a mistake, all of these specs can be off from machining the bore of the block? Please explain a recall if there were not problems!! Or did someone else really do the recall? Bet if Coan shipped you a 10" convertor stated as an 8" you bought, neither would be happy about it. And yes I've had hands on a few products with issues so I think I can speak, have either you guys had personal hands on these problem parts/issues (not a different run block) to be able to deny them as you are? Seems like that is what you are pushing here- problems didn't happen but no hands on, but others with no hands on can't state them either???? I still say only the lawyers are making out on the deal.

"HANDLE IT , means, that you guys can't handle it that the Kauffman's are good people, that they would give you the shirts off their backs and EVEN give/lend you parts if you needed them!!!" I really kind of doubt that Shirt statement on how it relates to me. When the Kauffmans were competing against the Butlers, the KRE guys had me pegged as a "Butler Man" While I agree that I did help Jim Butler and David Butler over the years when they were getting bigger, I also helped hundreds of other people too. I spoke with them several times in person, (Mostly Steve). Steve does things his way and I do things my way. I am a Professional Engineer by trade, he is a part time Professional Engine Builder/ part time Farmer I assume. His boys are full time engine builders/ cnc machinists I believe. Prior to the effort to create/ sell the mentioned Engine Blocks, I don't think any of them had ever actually designed or were involved in designing an engine block. They acquired some cores and some prints, went to a foundry, and attempted to help the Pontiac community with a competitive block to the IA-2 block. Chit happens. (More so with limited knowledge on what is involved.) As was said, with 30 years experience as a Professional Engineer for a major OEM, I would not think about trying to engineer a race block. I give them credit for trying. JMO Tom V.

Brian, If John were to really give me some Chit, I would take back the NEW balancer that was replaced free of charge (shipping included) when the used one John owned was lost by the Blower people.
He sent me a USED piece and it was replaced with a new piece vs a similar swap meet special. Course he COULD have gotten on the internet, called me every name in the book on every Pontiac site in the world, but he did not. He and I worked it out to HIS SATISFACTION AS THE INJURED PARTY. Something that did not happen in this block deal. JMO Tom V.

Good to see good cust. service on your end Tom. Thought I might share a cust. satisfaction story as well. Sold a cust a home generator. Total package job of $17,258 installed. Generator had many many problems over an 14 month period. All of the problems were repair under warrenty at no cost to the cust. but the generator did not give good service or sense of security. I jumped through many many hoops in order to do what the cust. wanted above and beyond the warrenty coverage. Finally the cust decided they wanted the generator replaced and rightfully so. I talked to the factory that made the unit and they didn't want to replace it, they just wanted to continue to repair problems until it ran out of warrenty. I now found myself in the middle but felt a sense of obligation to the cust. sense I was the one that recommended and sold them the unit. I finally decide to just buy a new generator (cost $12,200) and install it (cost of $2680.00 in labor) all at no cost to the cust. The cust. was now made whole and I continued to fight with the factory over replacing the unit. I finally got staight with the factory on most of the costs. I lost about $6000.00 total on the job but the cust. was happy and the worst thing that can be said about us is there was a problem............................... but they fixed it. That same cust. is responsible for me selling $30,000.00+ worth of work in the end because I took care of them better than most anyone would have. This little story is not to blow my own horn. Its to let you know I believe in not only talking the talk, but walking the walk as well. Some may say What I did was stupid but can sleep well at night knowing I did the right thing. |
