62 Bonneville convertible with a 421 tri-power at $570 with a reserve in NY. What a cool car. Seller describes it as a driver. Look at the size of that steering wheel.

70 Lemans Station wagon at $30K BIN with a 4 speed. Could you order a station wagon with a 4-speed in 1970?

Good question. Know you could get a 3 speed behind a 350 2bbl in a '70 LeMans wagon, as years ago I parted on one. In a "regular" 70 Tempest or LeMans, occasionally a 4 speed was ordered behind a 350 2bbl. Do know the one thing you couldn't get in a LeMans wagon was factory dual exhaust. Last, the round shifter handle in the above wagon is incorrect, the curve towards the front of the bench was no more after 1969.

No 4-speed or Floor shift manual trans option for a Lemans wagon was available except for the 1973 Model year ( I own a very rusty 73 4-speed Lemans Safari ) and it was not available for the full model year. Only thru October of 1972.
$4-speeds were available in Full Size Wagons up to 1970.

I have questions.
Wouldn't the VIN indicate this was built with a 250CI inline Chebbie six? And the "window sticker" indicates a posi rear and a radio (some kind of a delete plate over the hole), but no mention of a 400CI engine option or the four-speed. The 400CI engine tuning decal was applied over the crappy paint on the radiator support. Interesting car, but it's obviously hodge-podged. I don't think it's $30K worth of interesting. PHS would tell the truth. |

I do not think a 1970 VIN will show what engine it originally had. The 3-speed column shift was also available with the 350 2bbl engine. I agree on the value, it is a very base model wagon, does not even have a power tailgate window.

According to this page, the 6 indicated a 6-cylinder, a 1 indicated V8 until the 1971 model year. Starting in 72, there was a letter code for engine ID.
https://tinindianperformance.com/Pon...20decoding.htm So yeah, very much a base model, was probably a Chebbie 250 with a three-on-the-tree, so at least it was an easy conversion in already having 3 pedals. It looks like the steering column bucket may have been shaved where the shifter knob was, and that "lift for reverse" doesn't seem like a Pontiac thing for '70. It does look like a nice build under a fairly nice patina, and the interior condition is quite nice. Does look like fresh seat upholstery in the front bench. Wide tires on steelies with poverty caps, some suspension tricks, good looking engine bay and so on. Priced high to my taste. Not to mention I despise green on and in a car. I'm a fan of longroofs, one of my 2 dailies is a 96 Roadie wagon with almost a quarter million miles on it. There's a used car lot across the highway from us with a white 96 Caddie hearse that I would own and drive in a heartbeat, but I'm full up on fleet size right now, although I did actually make some moves on that 69 LeMans Sprint convertible a few weeks back on this page. Our 69 Firebird Sprint convertible could use a big brother, but we just couldn't get the deal done. Last edited by einstein; 08-17-2022 at 10:21 AM. |

69 Custom S convertible in SC at $7500 BIN OBO. For a 69 convertible, it doesn't get much cheaper than that. Would make a great GTO clone.

A 330-horse 350!? Interesting. May be a rare find. But there’s no photos of the engine. Would like to see what it looks like.

There was a Custom, I had one, a four door.
The "S' was an upgrade for it I think.

There was a 71 T-37 in my past (ex's first car), but it was a bare-bones stripped down car. Chevy 6 and 2-speed trans, manual steering and brakes, poverty caps, rubber floor covering rather than carpet, but it was a sharp looking 2-door hardtop in that bright green with tan interior. |

65 GTO in Nevada at $9750 BIN. While this seems reasonable for car with the engine and trans (swapped to a 4-speed), I can't imagine taking on that much work. Rust is a problem as the car sat under a tarp for 20 years.
