Bart- you forgot to put a half-dozen slicks on each side- you expect it to go with only four slicks?!
Steve- back in '62 nobody had yet heard of a "bottom end guy". A few lucky competitors had a "mechanic" with them!
Thanks, Rob, for all the Hill photos.

If your talking about the last pics I posted, the 63 Catalina is George Delorian's SD car, the book I got it from claims it's a "Swiss Cheese" car, but, that's up for debate.the 63 Tempest is the Mickey Thompson SD " Prototype" car , Yorktown Blue, driven by K.S Pittman and Bill Shrewsberry, this car is reported to still exist in a collection down Florida way!

I have posted this before but to just try to help.I talked to a man that owns the Gator Court motel in Fl. who claims to have one of these tempests.he told me that he had to look for the transaxlein Calif. Also he said he found Vankes' 63 cat on a car lot in Ohio. That he bought back in the 60's. Plausible? maybe possible his family must have had the $ as they owned hotel-hotels?Its just hopeful they still exist. He has storage garages in Fl. and somewhere in the Carolinas' area.I wanted to stop and visit but never took the time and $ to travel. His secretary did allude he had cars stored when I called a second time.Still would ahve liked to been a fly on thewall when those cars were developed or helped with the development.

Not really, if you save them to your computer you should be able to enlarge. If necessary I can e-mail them to you and I know you can then save/enlarge.

I have several others but have the same problem. Have to scan them though.

I asked the individual that took the photos and he said they were, in fact, from the '62 Nationals in Indy.

Anybody know for sure if this Knafel '65 is still around (don't speculate please...please only answer if you have something relatively concrete. Thanks).

...and not so easy....

(still using one hand in this first one)

And my absolute favorite photo of all time. Look at the "Moon Eyes" on this one:

I'm wondering if this guy broke an axle (any other explanation for the difference in rear wheel speed?):

And you may be familiar with this shot:

...but I had never seen this exposure before:
