With it being Christmas I didn't get anything much done. I re-repaired the heater box after installing one of the door shafts upside down. Removing it broke the box so I fiberglassed it and will try again tomorrow.
I got the dash and forward lamp harness for Christmas (Ain't my wife the best?). It should arrive about the 2nd of January.
I will update time and cost tomorrow night.

I hope I haven't misled anyone here. While the bodywork has been done,except for the hood, the car has not been painted. It has only been jammed out. My body man said it would take about $5,000.00 more to finish.

I didn't get much done this week. Installed the engine wiring harness and two belts. I took the front fenders and core support back off to make it easier. I took the A/C evaporator box apart and washed about 5 pounds of leaves and trash out of it. Is there a way to bench test the evaporator?
Anyway, I spent four more hours and $22.37 on parts so her are the latest.

I pressure tested the evaporator this week. And that is all I got done. I had to work until Thursday afternoon and then was out of town until Saturday night.
Only had 1 hour labor so I will add it to next weeks totals. My job appears to be running out in the next few weeks so, unless something comes up I will have a lot of time(read that no money) to work on the car.

Well, work was really hectic this week. We had two jobs that had to be done by lunchtime Friday. Then, I helped a friend work at his church Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. They are building a new church and I helped with some of the trim work.
Anyway, you all know that means there was no time to work on the car. I keep saying that I will have some downtime in the near future but, somehow there is work to do. I am thankful for the work and as long as there is some the car will have to wait.
Now, I have to make a correction to my totals. I figured my hours wrong and have to take $90.00 off that total.(Y'all are supposed to catch these errors). And, I need to add a new category. That is gifts. I received $716.52 worth for Christmas. You can feel free to add to this total at anytime.
I spent $45.97 on various cleaning supplies and Rotella-T oil. So, here are the new totals

Well, in between rain showers I was able to get a little done yesterday and today. I wire wheeled the metal vaccuum line that runs from the carb to the trans, the metal parts on the throttle cable, gas pedal and the brake booster.
I installed the gas pedal and linkage. I also painted and temporarily installed the brake booster and brake pedal assembly.
I even got all 8 spark plugs gapped and put in. I should be able to get this thing cranked in a couple of weeks. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I put the thermostat and housing in too. Am I on a roll or what?

I spent 5 hours doing this and bought $39.61 worth of parts and cleaners.

I spent several hours trying to get the parking brake system installed. Finally figured out I had the wrong crossmember hook. I got the core support reinstalled along with the radiator and started to put the gas tank in. That is not an easy job for an old man.
I had to re-re-do the back brake shoes as I had the wrong ones. I was sold 245s when I needed 242s The little difference in size made a big difference with fit and function. I got a $7.38 refund for the price difference in the brake shoes. I also buffed out the pedal pad trim. It turned out really nice.
I took some pics but have not downloaded them yet. I will post them when I do. I put 11 1/2 hours labor in so here are the new totals.

Her are a few pics of what little progress I have made. I stillhave some work to do on the core support such as cleaning it and installing the seals. I am also going to replace the valve covers and air cleaner. What do you use to clean the rubber pedal pads?

I know this is nit picking but I even cleaned and cleared the dimmer switch for re-use.
It has a little pitting but is functional

I went out and bought a new one,my old one had a little sand still in it.I got it from the parts store.

Not nit picking but attention to the details. Maybe obsession that's what my EX called it. On the pedal pads Bleche-Wite tire cleaner & a stiff brush should clean out that red GA clay & some Mothers polish & #000 steel wool on the trim. Can not wait to see when its done. Saltman

I went to the Moultrie swap meet yesterday and came home empty handed. For a show as big as this is there are never any Pontiac parts or vendors.
But, even though participation was down there were still about 1,500-2,000 cars in the corral and I looked at most all of them.
My buddy and I got there at 8am and walked until 4pm with only a 15 minute sit-down to eat a bite.
He bought 4 tires from Coker for his 57 Chevy resto and I pulled them,on a wagon, about 3/4s of a mile to his truck.That may not sound like much but when you are dodging thousands of spectators it can be a chore.
I didn't get anything done on mine. I did push it out of the shop. Then, I went through all my parts and sorted them out. I also cleaned up the shop so I have some room now.
All the totals remain as last week.

Just a quick note. I ordered a few small parts from our host and they arrived today. So, after supper, I ran(Well, I walked kinda fast) out to the shop and put them on. Seven minutes later I was finished. I installed the heater hose nipple, stuck the molded heater hose on temporarily and put the throttle return spring on. I hope to get some work done tomorrow afternoon and maybe Saturday, but since it is Valentine's day I hope to get mushy with Momma
