69 Firebird 350HO convertible at $4K US with a reserve in Canada. The rust on the front lip of the hood looks scary. The car looks totally original with #48 heads. Has gauges, wood wheel, clock, radio and then they change the valve covers to aftermarket... Doh!. Very rare car claims to be one of 112 and if that can ever be proven I would a lot happier.

I saw this car in person at the Mecum auction in Chattanooga, TN this past Oct. (2022}. Was pretty cool. Seems it didn’t meet the reserve when it crossed the block.

Its definitely one of the three original cars.
Thought I had read in an Old Article way back that the three cars were three different colors. White , Silver , Blue This is the Aluetian Blue car (a light blue metallic). Should it still be Blue ? Or did Barris actually paint them all Silver ? Or what's up about that The guy who found and restored the car and took it to shows was from Alabama. Car deserves its place in history. This one was awarded to best female singer. She didn't have license yet and sold it. It was at her house for 1 day. Her neighbor bought it and his name is on the P-o-P She doesn't remember much about the car except all the stuff in backseat and the woodgrain console. She was in Atlanta area. The car awarded to best group was shared by the group on a weekly rotation. They were in Minnesota Woman in the group eventually bought out the others. She did an $8,000 facelift on it in 1980 - in 1986 while parked in front of her home - kid in a stolen 1973 New Yorker being chased by cops at high speeds crashed into it and total loss. The car awarded to best male singer - has no known history ![]() ![]() |

This is mildly interesting. 1959 Pontiac dragster in Texas at $25K BIN. Has a blown 389 and a top speed of 181 MPH at 8.89. That's impressive for a 59, but can you imagine running this thing at 189 MPH now? That would scare the livin' crap out of me. The front end is built with 1948 Angila parts. Let's do dome math... 1948 was a long time ago! It's interesting, but I'll pass. Belongs in a museum.

59 Dragster is a Wild Piece of Americana .
A lot of other cheaper ways to kill yourself than that though. Amazing that guys strapped into things like that back then , and still wanted more-faster out of it. |

1980 Trans AM in Indiana with a lot of parts and a clean title from a 76 Trans AM at $8500 BIN. I would need to know the backstory of the 80 T/A title before buying this. Looks pretty solid.

70 Lemans Convertible GTO Judge clone at $20K with a reserve in NJ. The car had a frame off and it looks like quality work. I'm not sure what tribute cars top out at, but a frame off is very expensive. If I were to build this car, I wouldn't have picked red. Poking around the web I found a picture of a 70 GTO Judge built in Canada with Mint Turquoise paint and a red interior. This wasn't supposed to be available, but I guess some Canadian cars allowed it. Truly a stunning color combo (pic at end).

70 GTO (242 car) Judge tribute that had a fire at $8.9K NR in Oregon. Far too much damage to be a buyer at that price IMO.
