My heart really goes out to those boys...I know exactly how they feel. I lost my father when he was only 41 and I was 12 and I have three brothers. On the other hand, they are boys who surrounded by friends and people who love them, as were my brothers and me...and that REALLY helps.
Those boys will think of their father at least once during the day every day, probably for the rest of their lives. I know I still do and my brothers have all told me the same...and it's been 44 years.

I can't imagine losing my dad at that early age. My dad passed a few years ago at age 81. I was in my 50's.....and I think about him every day

I lost my dad when I was 6. It bothers me everyday. My greatest fear is leaving my 3 year old in the same situation I grew up in.

Its a shame that we have to die to find out how others really feel about us.

Mike is smiling down from Heaven.

Thanks for sharing those photos. Looks like you guys/gals did him proud.
BTW, Anyone else notice the style of the parking lot arrow on the pavement in this pic?

And that there is no car parked on top of it.

When my grandfather passed, a few of us were sitting in the kitchen including my grandmother just after his funeral. It was a gloomy day. When we all finally at down, it was at that moment the sun came out and through he window the sun reflected on something and shined a perfect heart on the ceiling. That was my grandfathers saying goodbye (totally something he would have done). I completely believe that and I also completely believe that when the best of us pass, they do attempt to leave a little message for us to say everything is ok.

That may very well be Mike.

Here are a few pictures I posted to Facebook from this morning's funeral, along with the comment:

Just got back into Michigan after saying goodbye to a good friend and Pontiac brother. Even under threat of rain, several classics showed up to bid farewell to a real car guy, and in spite of a warning from the local police, rubber was burned on main street Portland Indiana this morning.

David, I know what you mean. I lost my Dad last July, he was 78 and I was 55. So far, a day doesn't go by that I don't think about him, miss him, and for that matter, tear up.

Paul, I can't imagine what it must be like to have lost your Dad so early, take care of yourself, have that prostate checked yearly, and live so long that you can be a pain in your kid's butts!

Pop, say Hi to a friend of mine, yes, he's a Pontiac nut.

Oh, and thanks for the pics guys.

Does anyone here own and\or possibly lend or rent out a classic 60's Pontiac hearse? Seems like in the spirit of the new PY Member Memorial link above, that could be something we may all eventually share a last ride in. Just thinking out loud. It could even have Pypes on it....

I've not been very active here the past few weeks and just saw this. I never met Mike but will miss him anyway. Funny how well we get to know each other here on the PY board. Another 100 sent.
