Beautiful fast400. Wish I had mine here to take on the Autobahn if even just one time.

Easiest giveaway for me is the cylinderheads. The exhaust flange is a heck of a lot lower and angles down more than the other engines.

Bascom123,
Could be a SB 400. I don't know enough about Chevy's to tell you what to look for, but I am sure there are some ID numbers to look for on the block that would confirm what it is. Shouldn't matter as long as you are happy with the performance and you are not planning to modify the engine. If you are planning to change something on the engine, it may come into play. |

Never seen this before or heard of this. Interesting. I would think that the car was sent there but then converted to their standards by the factory there. It would cost way to much to send individual parts or to remanufacture all the parts there. I'll have to remember this one .

There were a lot of American cars assembled in Europe during the 50 - and 60:s. Antwerpen is only one of the plants. I think it was taxes and Import/export rules that forced this.

When he popped onto the list a few months back it was the first one I had heard of. Check out that Camaro link - it's about the building of Camaros in the Phillipines, but mentions GM Continental in Antwerp Belgium. |

Not participating on the list these days, Bjorn; besides, any old email I've saved would be in my home computer which isn't really mine anymore and I'm traveling too much to dig for it when I am home. Not much time for forums either. Maybe somebody else can ask the list?
