She hasn't set foot in the shop since asked her to sit on the frame in place of the motor so I could install the front springs.
That and I think she is allergic to grease.( I keep an open tub of it right inside the door).

Nice job on the dimmer switch Fyrffytr1.

I look at it this way.... new isn't always better. If you can restore or clean up an original part, that's way better then a repo. IMO. And cheaper too. LOL

Well, getting mushy took a lot longer than I expected! I did take some trim pieces off a spare door and buffed them out. But, they are to sell. I did finish installing the gas tank plus the 7 minutes I spent on it the other night gave me 1 1/2 hrs more labor.
I bought $142.09 worth of parts and supplies last week. I got the heater hose fitting, molded heater hose,throttle spring, A/C expansion valve, 7.5" parking brake hook, two 32oz bottles of synthetic brake fluid(buy one, get one free), some hose clamps, grease,and stainless steel bolts and washers.
So here are the latest totals.

My Labor at 289hrs...........$5,780.00
Parts..............................$7,857.09
Outside Labor..................$3,300.00
Gifts.................................$716.52

Total...........................$17,653.61

BTW... what was the original color of the parking brake assembly? I see you painted yours... is that Spray Gray or Detail Gray? looks nice no matter what color you painted it. I've got to do mine now, as it looks like yours before you painted it. LOL

I used Cast Blast because it was all I had. It is the same paint I used on my Master cylinder and exhaust manifolds. May not be correct but it looks fine to me.

From the look of Phil's pics and going by my '68 PB assy, I'd say it was unpainted bare metal with the lower portion dipped in black paint....runs included.
The Cast Blast looks good because it does mimic that unpainted look.

Thanks for the info on Cast Blast guys. The pk brake assembly in mine was never painted and the one to replace it wasn't either, except for the bottom leg. Both are pretty rusty too. I've started with the wire brush disc in my drill to clean up the replacement. I thought of just using the spray rust converter and leaving it at that. Looks like the Cast Blast is the way to go.

Mine was badly corroded and the mechanism was stuck so I media blasted it then soaked it in my parts cleaner. After working the pedal back and forth to loosen it up I sprayed it with brake parts cleaner. Then I wiped it good with Acetone before painting it grey. A day later I taped it off and sprayed the black.
When the paint cured I put a couple drops of oil on the pivots and gears then worked the pedal several times. Now, it is good as new.

Either I just made a mistake or I got a pretty good deal. I bought a 67 A/C dash bezel on e-bay for $60 plus $18 shipping. I hope it is as described.

I didn't get anything much done this week. To be honest, it hasn't been a very good week. The weather has not been good, so I couldn't get any painting done and my son called from Flagstaff. His girlfriend of several years broke up with him and it really tore him up.
I have spent a lot of time on the phone with him and I wish I could be there but, I can't. I know he'll pull through but it is hard. And, it's hard on me to see my son in pain.
I took my passenger side fender liner by a welding shop so they could patch a hole in it. Someone punched one in it to access the heater core bolt. I am thinking about having them powder coated but I need to fit them to the fenders first. I had to work some damage out of the fronts of them. I am not sure about coating them. If they flex will the coating crack? I may just paint them.
The totals remain the same as last week with the exception of the dash bezel I bought. I will update costs next week.

Phil, were you ever able to get in touch with Dennis? I was down there about a week and a half ago and he's got even more parts cars down there now. Quite a few '66/'67 A-bodies that probably have decent inner fenders.

Well, this has been an up and down week. Beautiful weather and the week off so I got sick and stayed in bed from Tuesday afternoon until Friday morning. .
I got my bezel last week and while it is not perfect, it is a lot better than what I had. Then, today I get an e-mail from a fellow PYer saying the parts I shipped him were damaged during shipping. It wouldn't have been so bad if it were just some parts, but, it was the four pieces of beltline trim that I spent many hours stripping and buffing. So, now I have to try and file a claim with UPS.
ALso, I got a phone call from the shop today. They had my fenderwell patched . So, I went to get it and they had patched it where the side that won't show is finished! I just took it and will grind it down myself then use the truck bed coating to cover it.
I paid $78.00 for the bezel and $35.00 for the patch job. Anyway, here are the new totals.

I didn't get anything done last week. And, after reading the thread on the fan blade restoration, I know what I will be doing this week. Mine was painted when I got the car so I thought that was the way it should be.
Anyway, my work has come to a complete stop so there is no money to spend on the car. Hopefully some jobs will come along in the near future, but, until they do... well, you all know what I mean.
I still have work I can do to the car that won't cost anything so even though I have put the project on the back burner at least I haven't turned the stove off yet.

Well, I got the fan blade restored and started stripping the front inner fenders last week. While I was removing the fan blade I noticed power steering fluid on the bottom of the pump. Further investigation revealed that the pump was leaking around the resevoir so I went to O'Reilly Auto and got another one. I worked 12 1/2 hours on the fan, inner fenders and I repainted the new P/S pump. I also re-installed the fan and pump.
Here are some pics of the fan. And, before anyone points it out, I know it is a 69-70 fan. Pt #9796134. Does anyone know what the #SD914007872 under the pt # means?
