Looks like a ProMod head to me so Lil Jack should run 5.9s at 250 or that head is crap.

If you look at the graph I posted, I have it making 1315 N/A HP and that is just a WAG. As I said those times are with DA = 0 and how many time have you run at DA = 0? What is the best 60 foot your car has ever run? I adjusted the traction so you run 1.22 60 foot like Kinsler did last year. 60 Foot ET = 1.2209 330 Foot ET = 3.2574 1/8 Mile ET = 4.9717 1/8 Mile MPH = 143.3027 1000 Foot ET = 6.4653 1/4 Mile ET = 7.7281 1/4 Mile MPH = 179.3339 I can then adjust for a DA of of around 2700 feet 60 Foot ET = 1.2250 330 Foot ET = 3.3040 1/8 Mile ET = 5.0577 1/8 Mile MPH = 140.1836 1000 Foot ET = 6.5846 1/4 Mile ET = 7.8777 1/4 Mile MPH = 175.1525 And last but not less almost everyone things my simulations are to optimistic. ![]() Stan

There is a lot of talk about how this head is designed for NOS.
Would this design also favor a boosted application? OR is that a completely different set of parameters? |

Cool stuff. Wonder how many really know what it takes to get a head to this stage. Kudos...that's a lot of work. Wish I had a chance to see it at PRI. Too much ground to cover and not enough time. Good luck with the project.

I know of a 481x that is being converted to nitrous use, they are being told it won't work, guess we will see next season. Quote:

What exactly are you calling a ford "pro-stock" head? The E460 junk or the hemi/DRCE knock off junk that only a couple people have attempted to run? I know of a boss9 headed engine using an ancient AR block like I have that has been faster than any of the pro stock junk in an old chassis with an old f3. The heads and block are '80s tech, the procharger early '00s, runs in the bottom 4s 1/8th mile. C460s have valve train problems and need the chambers softened for nitrous use, the "replacement" head has a tendency for the seats to fall out of them. A460s have been just as fast as any C460 headed motor. One of the best choices available would be the current Blue Thunder Thors, if you have the 10k for pair. |

I made a mistake in an earlier post. This head does not have the 4 extra head bolts.
It is possible to do this with the billet head but did not get it on my set. And there was another set sold for an NA application at PRI also. Tony Biscoff saw the head at PRI and he liked it a lot also. Visner said the Pontiac head was a big hit at PRI. And could tell the Pontiac community was a tight group and a lot of people new each other. Pontiac Power! |

Hey Bill. Thanks for the heads up on this. Not very "up" on Pontiac stuff but it's sure good to see the industry still supporting these kinds of new products.
Thanks Stan, Thanks David. |

LOL. Are they the same ones listed on the site? What would the closest cast head be to them? A, C, Thor?
