A friend of mine ordered a new Fairmont in 78 or 79, I was surprised how quick it was with the 302 and a 4-speed manual. After he did some tuning on it it ran mid to high 14's in the 1/4. My 70 GTO with the high mileage 400, would beat it, but not by much. It tougt me a good lesson on power to weight and gearing. It would take me off the line for about 60=90 feet and I would slowly pass him and nose him out by 1/2 a car legnth

Its a Fox body too, which means most Mustang/T-Bird parts will interchange.
IIRC it was the Torino replacement and in turn was replaced by the Taurus.

Should qualify:
I was googling directions to my grandsons basketball game and went to street level to find the entrance and this pops up. Once caught a big airliner in a satellite image, was looking down seeing the top of the plane.

I've seen the top of an airliner on a satellite map too.

I live in the Modesto CA area and rarely see anything old driving around. You think it would be the opposite with all the car shows and Graffiti week during the summer.

Speaking of old cars in California, my brother sent these to me this weekend. Yesterday his son drove his Chevelle north on the PCH up to Carpinteria. The truck he spotted in a grocery store parking lot in Santa Clarita today.

I spied this sweet GMC earlier this week over in the Hollywood district.

A couple of Fords I spotted last month. The pickup in Hollywood and the wagon was rolling down the Banfield doing about 60 mph.
