Went to the dragstrip last weekend. I have had my Formula for about six years now but have never taken it to the track. It is totally stock and ran a best of 14.40 at 98 MPH. 1qikta was there with his awesome '74. se428bandit made it with his '72 ventura also. Even tajunkman and his wife were there with her 2002 TA. Enjoyed seeing a Nissan GTR run a 10.99 at 132 MPH!

Kyle, have you ever done anything to the engine in your Formula or is it 'as found' ?
It sure looks good.

Greg, the engine in my Formula is basically "as found". I did have to replace the valley pan but the heads have never been off. It has just over 68K miles. Forgot to add that I did put the car on the scales. It weighed 4030 lbs. without me and 4180 with me behind the wheel.

So you're telling us you actually weigh 150 pounds?

Move over kid, and let a grownup drive.

:-)

(great to see you are driving that SD like it was meant to be driven)

Looks like the bidder has won 1189 other auctions. Sounds pretty reputable, right? The seller has sold 270 items. Now the math part. The buyer has bought 5 percent of his winnings from the same seller. That's about 60 items.

Then just as I'm about to post the above, he gets another bidder that is new to him.

IMO . . .

It matters not how many transactions the first bidder has on the 'bay. Could still be a "buddy bid".

Who knows???

That's what I'm getting at. He's bought about 60 items from the same seller. Who does that on eBay? Particularly when the sellers only sold 270 items.

FWIW, looking at the history of these two bidders, we see neither has a habit of buying anything automotive.

Lloyd,...a new avatar!? Much nicer than that sadly crunched bumper pic. Is the TA fixed now?

Yup. I got fussed at one too many times about that awful avatar, Ric.

And unfortunately - no. The Formy still sits forlornly in my garage, all beat up . . .

Question

You know - there IS something else I've been meaning to bring up . . .

The OHC-6 crowd got their own forum section. For crying out loud, are there more OHC-6 folks here than 455SD guys?
http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...play.php?f=496

Geeeeeeeez . . .

PS - mods, no vacations please!

That would be a record for a automatic formula (that I know of).

X2!

This thread has probably the most posts of any threads.
Nothing against Cammers, but all 4 of them get a Section?

I too really wish there was a "SD455" forum section. My main reason for this is when someone uses the search function for something SD455 related it often lists this thread. Well it is impossible to search through 100+ pages for the information you are looking for.
