68 GTO in St Louis at $12K NR. Looks like the father owned this car for 20+ years and passed away. His son is selling it and doesn't know much about it. It's a 242 car.

Another Gateway car in Atlanta with a reserve with this 68 Firebird convertible. These cars typically start out with a reserve ad, just to see what they bid up to. After it runs a couple of times, then they use a BIN and see if it hits. The longer this goes on the lower the asking price gets. This car looks pretty solid at $1K with a reserve. The green exterior with white interior and top really works on this car. Super sharp.

It really hurts to see this. I had a clean 400 version and agree, the color combo was striking. Mine had the light green deluxe interior but no air. Car got a lot of attention even back then, loved cruising in that thing with the top down. Bought it in '78 & smashed it up in '79. Stupid kid...

Interesting car... 72 Grand Prix Hurst edition in starlight black. Production numbers look to be about 60 for 72. Odd that I really don't like this car in black. It looks great in white. Frame off with a rebuilt 455 HO engine, $48K in Milwaukie.

The last I talked to Jim Mattison about SSJ's, there were 174 72 SSJ's. That was a few years ago. There is likely a few more now. I called in a vin at the time and that one made 174.

Def an interesting '72 SSJ, believe have seen this car listed for sale before.

Two things make me question what am looking at:
-First, this SSJ does not have rally gauges, have had a bunch of SJ's, & rally gauges were part of that model...
-2nd, with the 455 Dport engine, the aircleaner should be a dual snorkel single heat riser.

Of course, gotta love the carlot seller's description. NOT a 455 HO round port engined car or engine.

Most SSJ's were built from Model J's. Not all SSJ's had 455's because of that. Options varied as you were typically ordering a J and adding the options you wanted before it was sent to Hurst.

Any idea what percentage of these were black? I didn't even know you could order it in black, as all I've seen in magazines are white and gold.

Thanks for confirming the SSJ was built off a base J (wondered about that possibility).
By 5th digit of VIN, car was optioned with a 455, & should have a dual snorkel aircleaner.
With the lid getting swapped out, the much more common 4bbl base must have been sourced as well.

I thought it was trying to hard to be an orbit orange goat at first...strange how someone would customize it so much then lose interest or whatever the situation to sell

70 Lemans at $7.6K BIN in Massachusetts. Runs and drives, but it's been sitting for a long time. The car looks like no one has altered it in any way. Interior is pretty nice.

68 GTO convertible AC 4 speed posi in Pennsylvania at $9.6K NR. Now has a Chevy engine and needs work, but the original colors on this car would look amazing. Originally turquoise with a teal interior and white top. Not sure if the ROI is there to bring it back?
