Here Are pics of my 81 Turbo. Original paint and stickers (I striped the car). Fully loaded and rust free Canadian car (I know it's hard to believe) 73,000 km or 45,000 miles for my Amercian Friends. Soon to be converted to 4 speed!

Question

That's a nice TTA,if you plan to keep the monitary value of the car I would not convert it to a 4spd,even though I have a 4spd W-72 car and love it.
These types of 80-81 turbo cars are going up in value, especially unrestored nice ones.
But if you plan to keep her and not look to sell in the future, chop away, but this is only a personal opinion of mine,it's your car,do as you will.

Got it done 2 weeks ago after a 4 year on/off build, need to redo the clear coat. I'm happy with it though as it's a complete garage build and the first one I've done.

Nice Daytona!
I use to have one with all the decals (minus the ones on the rear window).
Beautiful!
I still think out of all the interior color combo s and such, of all the years, the 1981 NASCAR Turbo Trans Am still was the best color combo/seats ever!

Thanks guys, I love this car. Its not perfect (it needs a new paint job and decals and driver seat recovered to be) but it will be in a couple of years. I looked for a 77 SE TA after I sold my 78 Y88 TA last year. The prices were just stupid on those cars. So I went for my 2nd love, the turbo SE. Way harder to find than a 77 thats for sure. My dad owned a red turbo TA with the turbo lights back in 81-82 back when I was 9 and I have loved the turbos since. I was like a kid all over again when I found this car!

Unhappy

My condolences on the sale of the Y-88.
That is a rare bird,I almost had my hands on a 4spd W-72 Y-88 before our 73,cash in hand and everything, but Spring Grove Classics in Spring Grove Illinois sold it from under us.......................bad buisiness ethics over there.
I'll bash the bastard any chance I get.
