I would imagine not many were ordered that way?
I am leaning towards Starlight Black / black interior for a possible change. I remember 20 years ago there was a man here in my Hickory, NC community that owned a 1970 Ram Air III Starlight Judge and the car just looked incredible.

Scott. Found it in a barn, put it in a barn! Won't see the light of day for a couple years. Must finish the silver/blue one first. Then, don't tell anyone here, i'm doing the 70 SS 396 next. Then the iv car will get finished and beat Krytas car!

EATDGAS--

I see that you live in Lancaster, CA. This is where I purchased a black 1970 RAIV Judge convertible around 1985 from a guy named Dave Palmer. (The correct color was Paladium Silver.) His step dad worked at Edwards Airforce base. Do you know his whereabouts? I have not been able to find him. He purchased the car from an airforce guy. It's a long shot, but thanks.

Darrell -

My 69 Antique Gold Judge was rescued from a barn. BTW, stay away from the chebbys! My 66 SS396 is sold to a buddy, so won't have any more in the garage (at least for now). Speaking of other brands, I'm not too far from finishing on a 66 Fairlane GT (390, 4 sp, black with red guts) convt. It's in paint jail in Orrville OH. ALso about to pull my 70 RAIV GTO off the frame.

Will be nice to see the silver/blue car done - that's a nice combo.

Scott

When you look at the '69 Judge production you can tell that Pontiac wanted the Judge to stand out from the rest of the GTO line. Carousel Red was almost exclusively a Judge color in '69, just as Orbit Orange seems to be almost exclusively a '70 Judge color. Personally I have not seen very many Polar White standard GTO's (actually every one I've seen has been a Judge)so it leads me to believe that it too is primarily a Judge color.... Also, all of the pontiac ad's from 1970 seem to be of a Polar White Judge.

The general consensus is that Orbit Orange is the most popular color followed by Polar White and Cardinal Red. I have no actual proof to back this up,just years of talking to different people in the Pontiac community.

Glenn was nice enough to e-mail me the production vs. color breakdown for 1970.

Here it is

Starlight Black 1,515
Palomino Copper 1,457
Polar White 2,460
Bermuda Blue 1,861
Atoll Blue 4,980
Baja Gold 2,067
Palisade Green 2,487
Mint Turquoise 774
Pepper Green 3,661
Burgundy 1,246
Palladium Silver 2,394
Verdoro Green 3,299
Cardinal Red 3,777
Orbit Orange 618
Sierra Yellow 2,889
Granada Gold 4,664

I was somewhat suprised to see that the Atoll blue was that popular, not a bad looking choice, but suprised to see it was more popular than Starlight black. I have to admit the Polar white Judges that came with the 60 % gloss black spoiler really grows on you. I wonder if a customer had to order that or if it just came that way depending on the assembly plant?

Just a question for everyone. What have you seen to be the more prevalent stripe colors on polar white judges? My car has been missing it's stripes for a long time and I have looked at every Polar white Judge I have seen and it seems to be a fairly even split between the black and the Blue stripes. I am unsure what the car was originally built with. With most colors there seems to be one stripe that is more prevalant the the others, with polar white does not seem to be the case. Anyone notice the same thing? Mark

I believe Pontiac recommended blue, but the black would be a better choice in my mind, especially if your car has the black spoiler. Im sure the car could be ordered with black which has me wondering, could you order whatever stripe color desired no matter what color the car?
