We have Night Trips here, and it is fantastic. Guy founded it on hating the way other clubs operated with tip hassles and what not, you will like. Dan too.

I know Blkbrd has a 69 Judge with MIA IV block, and I'm sure many others. I know of one 70 IV Judge here, I'll try to get the VIN.

Wouldn't surprise me that the plant kept records during production, but shortly the VIN was attached I bet the paper trail was dropped.

You can't always trust the PHS documents to 100% correct either. I have a 68 parts car that has the original engine in it still. It is a MAY of 68 car, the PHS says the EUN is 312949 yet the block is clearly stamped 812949. The 312949 would be way to early for a May car. I'm sure a 3 for an 8 typo. Also I have noticed a lot of the key codes a didget off to what is actually stamped on the lock cylinder.

I completely agree they are not perfect; human error was a factor, more so back in the 60's before the computers we have today to help us keep or facts straight. |

68pongto, I'd bet dollars to donuts that the original document on that '68 was typed with the correct EUN. What you are likely seeing is the loss of detail that occurred when the document was put on microfiche and then when PHS made a paper copy from the microfiche.
Not suggesting humans don't make errors, just that it is very common to have difficulty making out characters on the PHS Invoice copy simply because the character as originally typed on the form may not have been all that clearly formed to start with. Not sure what you have found with the key codes. But sometimes you have to know what the character is supposed to be before you can recognize it from the PHS. My '64 Fremont PHS shows a line item for "P30 WHT W TIRE CVR". Some sort of "cover"? I could never figure out what CVR stood for until I saw it printed clearly on another Fremont document. The CVR is actually OVR and stands for "Over-ride", meaning my GTO got the White Wall Tires which was an "over-ride" no charge option for the standard red line tires. Lots of example where the characters appearing on the PHS are not fully legible like this. |
