Well, I took the inner fenders to my buddy in Columbus. He will fix a couple of rusty spots then undercoat the wheel side and paint the engine side. When I get them back I am going to test fit the front end.
I spent about 1/2 hour cleaning the under dash ductwork. I will update figures next week.

I worked 8 1/2 hrs on the car this week. That's counting the 1/2 hr I put in last week. Put the A/C evaporator, fan box and under dash box back in. I also re-did the duct work. Cleaned it, then painted it with SEM Color Coat in satin black. I like it better. I had to take the engine harness back out and return it to M&H for a minor modification. I spent $58.21 on supplies such as strip caulk, paint and tranny fluid.
I spent Friday cleaning and listing some spare parts for sale. Her are this weeks figures. Labor @ 310 hrs...............$6,200.00 Parts..............................$8,044.65 Outside Labor..................$3,300.00 Gifts.................................$716.52 Total............................$18,032.96

Blue, that looks like a Golden Hawk or a Sliver Hawk. The Studebaker club here in DE has a couple of each, and other models that are really nice. It's surprising how many of the old Studes are around these days.
And good to hear you had a great vacation.

The outside metal looked pretty good, you could see some bubbling. No I didn't buy,I'm spending enough on my '66 GTO resto as it is.....and wondering if I should have done it as is seems everything is going to HELL in a handbasket.....and no end in sight.
![]() The car has been for sale for a while,I tried to talk one of my nephews about buying it and selling his rice burner.....he would have a V8 for gods sake! But his 4 banger is fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]() Oh and 1 of my uncles had a Stude for many years,I got to see a pic of his standing next to the car. |

I picked up my inner fenders last week and hung the old exhaust from the motor to the mufflers.
I hung the front fenders on and stuck the steering wheel in so I could take a picture for the Insurance company.I rolled the car out of the shop and let it sit in the sun for a few hours. I hope to crank the car in a few weeks. Here are the new totals with 1 hr labor and $125 for the inner fenders. Labor @ 311hrs...........$6,220.00 Parts.........................$8,044.65 Outside Labor..............$3,425.00 Total........................$18,177.96

I have both of mine still on the inner fenders. Do you guys mean to say that this another piece that's not available?
I'll keep my eyes peeled for a suitable replacement. Seems like I have seen something on ebay for a chevy hood bumper that looks like that sorta. Charles |

I don't know if it's repopped or not. Shouldn't be too hard to make one. I know I have one and the other may be out in the shop somewhere.

Inner fender look good. Any particular reason you choose to undercoat the underside?

No particular reason, Jerry. It's not regular undercoating. It's paintable and my bodyman did the whole car underneath with it.

Well, I am almost ready to crank the car. I sorta, kinda installed the dash and cosole harness. I also installed the his and her shifter, dimmer switch and the firewall relays.
I also modified my coil bracket so I could temporarily mount the coil to the head. When I get the correct bracket I will change it out. I hooked up 2 of the 3 ground straps. Can't hook up the third until I install the inner fenders. All total I spent 4 hrs on the car this week. Oh, before I forget it, I finally ordered my PHS.When I sent in the info I used an old insurance paper to get the VIN from. I wasn't even thinking when I did it. Anyway, I get a call from PHS asking what car I want the PHS on. I told them my 67 GTO vert. They asked why I sent a VIN for a 65. Then it hit me, the insurance paper was for the 65 GTnO I sold almost two years ago. And, I checked my totals for the last two weeks and they are wrong! 3/28 should be $18,261.17 and 4/4 should be $18406.17. Y'all need to check my math! Oh well, at least I have room for improvement. Here are the latest totals(I think): Labor @ 315 hrs................$6,300.00 Parts...............................$8,044.65 Outside Labor...................$3,425.00 Gifts..................................$716.52 Total............................$18,486.17

If you mean the motor that came with the car, yes. It runs great or at least it did when I pulled it. It's a 69 block with a 70 intake and carb. 67 670 heads.
