Just wondering where you got the phone # to call ?
Can't believe they discontinued our magazine, and automatically replaced with Hotrod !!
Very poor customer service.

I got it from the inside page of Hot Rod of the index under subscription services. The subscription services take car of all their titles so one stop does it all. Just look through what magazine you'd rather receive before you call and ask them to switch your owed balance to that magazine.

Default Hot Rod Magazine

Just got the new issue of Hot Rod with an explanation that the HPP subscription will be filled with Hot Rod.

I already received HR. HR is much cheaper than HPP was. They should be giving you more issues.

Don't know about a next wave, but I'm anticipating a sharp increase in pricing on what's left now. And when the pricing goes up, I'm going to start being more selective on what I keep.

Won't be renewing more than 6 months in advance, after this debacle.

For Hot Rod magazine, just go to page 10 (it isn't labeled as such, but there is a page 12) and under SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES is an 800 number to call. Tell them your concerns and what recourse they can provide. A pro-rated refund may be one option, but there may be handling fees too making the switch to a different magazine a "better deal".

Thanks Mike, I just called, very nice girl on the other end of the phone, switched to MCR for me - not a problem at all.

For those who don't want to look, the number is 800-800-4681.

Don Keefe wrote for MCR as did Paul Z at one time I believe.

Can anybody tell me why I might like MCR better than Car Craft (the mag they substituted in my case)?

MCR is a very good magazine IMO. I have subscriptions to them both. MCR is very "mature" and shows a lot of in depth articles on a variety of Muscle Cars. Lots of full restorations documented step by step. Car Craft, however, especially over the last few years, has become somewhat "juvenile", featuring a lot of nonsense like taking a junkyard Chevy 305 and turning up boost (on a junkyard turbocharger) until it blows up, as well as articles on doing things like souping up a POS, and thinking it is cool, how to make a late model Mercury Grand Marquis handle, putting Corvette C7 brakes on everything, and other such crap. I am going to let my subscription run out on that one very soon. It is all in your tastes I suppose. I personally prefer MCR to Car Craft about 10-1.

MCR is along the same lines as Hemmings but I think they will be complimentary rather than duplications.

Although I enjoyed HPP, I don't mind reading about other makes.

I was given car craft in place of HPP as well. So I emailed car craft & asked them if they could switch me to Hot Rod since I've been a subscriber for 50 + years.
They said no problem! We'll see
