My first car. I know it’s not a 70-73, but it’s where my passion and journey started. Me and my dad fixed it up over 2 years time. Hard to believe a car that when we got it was only 10 years old had so much rust. Bought several parts from johnta1. This picture is on my 16th birthday 1988….. At the time my dad still owned a buccaneer red 73 that John eventually bought. My 76 started life as a starlight black 455 4spd car with about every option including the rear console. I wanted it red like my dads so we painted it red.

John,

Thanks, means a lot coming from you!

72projectbird,

I worked with Jason Rushforth on the wheels. I drew up my ideas, and he made them work structurally. They are custom 3 piece wheels. I wanted a modern interpretation of the honeycombs. The fronts are 19x11 with 275-35-19’s and the rears are 19x13 with 335-30-19’s. I used NOS center emblems for Pontiac hubcaps. Not sure the actual application, but they scaled up to the 19’s perfectly in my opinion. Here are a few more pics.

Next in line, I am starting an accurate as I can restoration on my numbers matching D port auto Brewster TA with black standard interior with 3 options… AM radio, console, and toaster rear glass.

The weather forecast looks very nice...highs in the low 80's and no rain! That's got to tempt you a little bit. It would get a lot of attention there!

SD455DJ,

Would love to, and hope to in the next few years. Unfortunately I have to work all the time. (Helps pay for this disease). We have lost most of the talent at my workplace due to retirement and the younger generation just doesn’t get it!

Thanks for the compliments

Yeah, I hear ya with the brain-drain of the older generation retiring out of the workforce...I'm one of them as well. I'm retiring (finally) this November which will allow me some time to work on all the projects (cars and home) that have been piling up over the years...lol!
