I wonder if the casino really 1099'd him for $75,000 on that car. I hope he finds himself an accountant that dials that value down to a realistic number.

Honestly its a pretty cool car, good color combo, should be a sweet cruiser, BUT no way is it even close to being worth 75k

I had trouble getting offers on my 65 SS (which is much better optioned) for the bad condition value, much less 3 times good condition value. LOL

they must have watched the episode and bought into the Ass Monkey hype

Some guy is probably pissed off because he let a towing company take away his car. I picture him watching TV and cursing when Gas Monkey gives $2500 to the tow truck driver for his car. Then the value quickly rises to $75k at some casino. He must be going out of his mind.

I wonder if the towed car storyline is even true, could be just a find that they threw some new parts at and flipped

I'm sure that nothing on that show is true. While eating lunch, I was watching a bit of an episode off Tivo. Sonic Drive In hired them to completely restore ("restomod" with all new parts) a '68 Camaro in three weeks. Riiight....

its funny because on the Misfit garage spinoff, they also start talking about deadlines, but they dont even have customers, hahahaha

If its a breakeven point as far as labor cost, that is one thing, but dont call it a deadline

I kinda like 'Fantom Works'. They do nice work with a minimum of the fake 'plots' and 'deadlines'. I like the fact that they show that a restoration can take several months or years even and the fact that they include the charge to the customer in the show. He did a '41 Buick for a customer last week and the bill was $116,000.
I like the fact that people with that ol' rusted out hulk in the backyard can get an idea of what it costs to make a car like that worth $20,000.

Greg, there's one around here that I saw this summer a show. Haven't seen it since but when I do I'll get some photos of it for ya. It sure was a sharp looking 57 Safari. And yes, I agree they're better looking than any Nomad.

I do love the tri-five Nomads too, but yeah Gary, get some pics if you can.
