Thanks for the laugh. How come I didn't get the same rise out of you as the guy who said your car was only worth $75k? He did say one thing that I may agree with. I've been thinking about the same thing, considering the amount of money. But, with you, I'll believe it when I see it. If you do, I hope the thing goes for $500k.

Hey Guys, I just bought my first house and I have a Super Duty replacement brand new in the original GM box. What should I set my reserve at on ebay. I'm not sure what a Brand new 455SD carb is worth. I need some home repair money now, so I have to sell a few items laying around....Thanks for any input

It all depends on date of mfg 73/74 and overall condition of this service replacement. I've seen sd carbs range 1,500-2,500 but not sure which were S/R and which were correct date code used carbs?
I guess it all depends on the current market of listing but I would think 1,800 should be real (reserve) however I think it would go beyond that. |

Ok, I been updated and informed that a SR would be 500-1000, and a correct date coded unit would be 1000-1800 depending on manual/automatic and date of mfg.
Hope this helps and its not to late. Good luck and due let us know what you find. Later, Brew |

Trying to get an idea on what this is worth. SD-455 complete motor minus exhaust manifolds. This was a crate motor installed in car in 1976. Standard bore, ls2 intake with 72 date, 273 carb for 74 car. Correct dist. Motor is in car and running, has about 30k miles on it.Block is 490132 with 72 date but no stampings on front pad by water pump. thanks for any help

Brew,
When do we get to see some more? Come on, man! Check these out. I took these last weekend. They didn't quite happen in this order, but if I arrange them this way, it makes a pretty good little story. She loves having the keys in her hand and being in the car. I'm amazed how fast they pick up on things by watching Mom and Dad. My daughter is now 16 months. 1. Do I really get to drive the Zam Zam, Daddy? 2. Let's see, I think Daddy puts the key here. 3. Then, something about turning it. 4. Then, Daddy does something here. 5. Vroom, Vroom!

Nice!
What I think is neat is looking at how much they grow in a year. It'll also be fun to show them these pictures when they are old enough to appreciate them.

Little Frank is one lucky kid getting to sit on top of that trailer queen!
You have done it now, what more could a little boy want…….a cool car and hot chicks? Another TA addict is added to the list. The SD sickness will now live on through Frankie. Brew, you know in about 15 years or so he is going to bugging the piss out of you to let him go rip that thing to Prom. Better get rid of it now. (read sell it to me) SDD |

Yeap, I know isn't that kick a@@ sitting on the shaker. The wife wouldn't let me start it though, now that would have been an action shot.
Ready to sell, sure if you hit the reserve ? but you have to tell Frankie why he's driving a van to Prom. Glad to hear you car is taking trophies even though its apart??????? wow, I better think about this restoring thing again?????? |

SDBob,
Yep, I took the 442 w30 to a all Pontiac show. Only car in my class, took second place in that class, go figure???. Just happy I didn't get thrown out. I guess you and DW won't make the Indian Uprising in Geneva this year (again) cause of the camping thing hey? Too bad, great A body turn out last year, plus there was three 73' SD's along with a nice showing of other F bodies. Thought I would hide the 442 in with the other A bodies there, I be the only car in my class again and maybe get third.???? Hope to see you at Norwalk or Nationals at least. SDD |

SDD:
I think DW is going to come to Geneva this year. I cannot because of the family camping thing (uuugh!) Glad to hear that the 442 is holding it's own.
