Having struggled in the past with the steel dipstick tube for the tranny. Trying to fit it in the tranny, then aligning the bolt hole to the bell housing. I really like the Lokar flexible dipstick tube. Where it fits into the tranny. The tube has two o-rings. No struggling to get it in the tranny and I haven't experienced any leaking. The one for the aero coupe attaches to the firewall allowing for a custom location.

The driveshaft has been resized for the aero coupe. I'm using the old driveshaft from my 65. I needed to have it shortened and rebalanced. I've been using Sonny's in Knoxville, Tn. I went there this week only to find out that they are no longer there. Fortunately they had posted a new phone# and address. The driveline service is now located at Post Trailer Repairs in Knoxville #865-523-4067. The service and turn around time was excellent . I did have to upgrade my driveshaft yoke as a factory yoke may not be up for the task of 500 plus horse and torque. Here's a picture of the finished driveshaft with a factory yoke next to it as a comparison.

I finally reached that point with the wiring that I could hook up a battery. This allowed me to verify some power sources to hook up the fuel, ignition, and fans. I ran the fuel pump first to make sure there were no leaks. Primed the oil system on 455. This motor last ran back at the co-convention two summers ago! Next I turned the key and she fired right up. Now it's a car.

HEAT WAVE 6 Degrees here this morning!!!, getting a new furnace for the shop installed next week, then I should be able to get my ass back to working on projects. I did manage to get my 69 FB all back together this spring and installed A/C and got all of the bugs out of it, the only problem with that was, I wanted to drive it all the time so I never got anything else done, put over 5,000 miles on it! LOL I also managed to put an air drop suspension on the front of my toter truck, and did get my wifes 68 Javelin stripped (it was her mothers car) and I just got most of the sheet metal in for it. Sorry to highjack your thread. Stan |

Here's the shifter mounted in the Aero Coupe. Now I can run the cable and work on tranny cable bracket.

Looks good, are you carpeting it or a console? Yeah, the bird turned out well, cut a 1/4 loop off the factory A/C springs and ordered new custom Detroit leafs with a 2" up. Running 15x10's in the back and everything is under the fender lip. |

Stan, I do have a carpet to put in. I want to put a console in. Just haven't given it much thought yet. Now that the shifter is in place , I can work on a console.

Stan, I'll do one better. I just finished hooking up the shifter. I'll take it out of the garage under her own power.
Here's the video ! http://youtu.be/F_qShPEaNM8

Thanks guys! We're just like little kids on Christmas when we are finally able to go down the road. I go to the local window tint guru monday for the back window. Hopefully he can get the job done.

The window tint guru was able to do the rear window. When I dropped the car off. I told him that he could do it in strips. He said no way, it has to be one piece. Here's the before and after.
