I believe the NOS one I sent to 165th to be used for the new kits had the number only. That could be newer GM product?

........and I will hang my plate with wire??...unfortunately N.J. requires a front plate or I would give it to you as the front plate messes with the front nose good looks!...they are repopped...how close I do not know,,,also the rear...I hope some of the pix I post don't look weird...just trying to document 72 parts for the next guy...sorry I can not help..note the silver overspray from the repaint, circa 1983..still kills me she ruined a 58k mile car after 13 years with a colour change...you would think the paint shop could have set her straight..but no, they sanded off the stripes and painted it with a brush & roller (looked that bad) and made certain to ruin under the trunk, all the door jams etc...that's why I went for all new sheet metal(was inexpensive in 1990) and am comfortable with a colour change to the colour I like...if she had not done that, I would have a more original car with just an exterior repaint..oh well I can not go back, just forward

I know this is 70 - 73 FIREBIRDs, but this thread is also my life story...when my check arrives for my destroyed 3000 GT I plan on a $2000 overhaul of my Z-28...powerful car and my best option...had it in storage with 17 k miles till 1996 and I fell in love and my ex girlfriend put 50k miles on it...I know, I am an idiot sometimes...love makes us do stupid things...

at about 23k miles and I was checking out my car and noticed one tire was different,...mind you expensive tires...but I had just put on all GOODYEAR and now one oddball...then she admits she scrapped a curb and blew it out and was afraid to tell me...only because she knew how I felt about the car...she was hot...so we always do pay...the dent in the fender was from myself and a friend in a drunken brawl...I actually believe we both some how slammed into the car...we stopped the moment it happened....15 years later its still there

I tried, but it doesn't work for me...rattle can paint worked fine on the intake manifold, but not on the valve covers...paint job is unacceptable and needs to be shot with a gun which opens colour matching problems...the chrome distracts from the original untouched sides and exhaust manifolds...in real life when people see the engine the chrome gives it a WOW factor...I went into this with the best intentions...new gaskets, correct

on page 11 are engine photos with the chrome valve covers...I think when an engine is pulled and fully painted with PONTIAC blue and the engine bay is all redone everything looks great..only the intake and front of my motor has been repainted along with some brackets...most everything is unrestored...in some ways I think that's good as its the way it is and matches the underneath of the car...its what I have to work with..and unless everything is restored whatever I do sticks out like a sore thumb, so to speak.the rattle can really came out bad, I kept getting dry spots and had to shoot close, then started getting runs etc.,etc...hopefully in my case the chrome valve covers work and everyone understands..chrome valve covers are more of a distraction in my case from a largely unrestored engine compartment..I suppose it does bother me as I thought it would work..perhaps if the sides of the heads were painted but that's territory if I tried to mess with I would really start to screw things up..the motor needs to be pulled for a project like that..in other words, I give up..for now

I understand and don't blame you. Unless you can do it like it needs to be, don't even attempt to. It will look worse than it did before you even started. Botched paint looks worse than the old original to me.
