overuld, hell yeah that helps, and thanks a ton, really.
zeppelin rocks. beer's great. actually sounds like a fun night. when you're ready to redeem your favor, just send me smoke signals. get it - that's funny cause it's the name of the old magazine. i slay me. seriously, though, i owe ya. your result validates my theory - cam's in wrong. time to get dirty & degree this puppy where it oughta be. i'll also get the part # on the nose and figger out what's really in it. after that, if it's stupid big, it'll have to come out. all we know is it's a nunzi grind; no real idea which. being his smallest is a ra4-like stick, it's likely too big - but it sure sounds sweet idling. or i'll just swap shortblocks with my d-port motor; it's got some nice domed slugs, prepped rods, 4bolt mains, almost no mileage, and a torque-monster custom cam i spec'd 20 years ago with rhoads tappets. by the way, rhoads now offers their flat lifters with an oiling groove to supply juice to the lifter/cam interface. THANKS AGAIN!

johta, read that page - neat trick.
if the balancer was marked dead on from day one and hasn't slipped any. and if i knew the cam specs! however, perhaps this trick could be used to make sure it's in the ballpark... stupid easy as it is to do, i'll give it a shot. if i come back 20 or some suchlike number of degrees outta the normal range, i'll know it's stabbed/set wrong. if it comes in within where it oughta be, i'll know someone made a poor grind choice and will get a cam cut and some rhoads. is there a flaw in my logic anywhere you see? thanks much

Mike: Glad to help. Actually it was a fun night. ...."Hey Hey Momma Said The Way You Move, Gonna Make Me Sweat Gonna Make Me Groove......" (breaks into air guitar routine with wrench in one hand, grabs a sip of beer and says... man I love this song!) ...Wife opens door to garage and yells, "Do you have to listen to that so LOUD???" ....looks at wife, looks at son, winks and says: "What, I can't hear you 'cause I'm listening to Led Zeppelin real loud....." Shares a laugh with son as wife rolls her eyes and slams the door to the garage..... Dad and son make a new Man Rule: No wives in the garage when the GTO hood is up and Led Zeppelin is playing..... Yeah, we had fun. BJ

I'm close to that car if anyone needs me to go look at it. He also says that he has a 4-speed car coming up. I think this may be the second or maybe third time around for this car on the 'bay. It is a pretty car!

You are right, it's beautiful. I want to ask two questions though. Please remember,I'm no expert. My car was ten years old when I got it and a bunch had already been changed. Is the Firebird emblem above the cigarette lighter correct? Mine didn't have it. Also, when did the "Radial Tuned Suspension" appear on TA's engine turned bezel dash?
