Lol, sorry to keep us all waiting! The painter got the doors, trunk lid, and front end of the car put back on yesterday, so the car will technically be ready for pickup today. Unfortunately due to my work schedule and the availability of my friend who has a truck and enclosed trailer, I won't be able to pick the car up until Friday. This thread is about to get a lot more active.

Here is a little sneak peek that I received from the painter a few moments ago. This is straight out of the gun and it's dusty, etc., but as I mentioned previously the car will be going back to the painter in a few months for a week's worth of wet sanding and buffing to reach its final state.

Looking good! Fortunately we're going into warmer weather so it can set in the sun and bake a little.

Get a roll or 2 of this tape. It is put on the body…like on the roof …and Windsheild pillars ….to prevent scratching of the new paint ,when installing the Windsheild moldings. It’s not super sticky …and pretty thick too…it’s Bailed me out everytime. Also can be applied to the fenders when that front and rear bumper get installed. A zillion applications…when it comes to putting a car together. You’ll thank me later |

Nope…it’s intended use is for what I described. It’s a thick protective film. It really shines ..on the installation of the 1967 GTO rocker and lower rear 1/4 stainless moldings..where the molding slides onto body clips..

Alright, here she is! Just got her back from the painter today. I really like how the paint turned out. Great color and it's going to look like glass after wet sanding. Now I have to get busy on my end and make it a runner.

Thanks everyone! Super big day for me. It's starting to feel like a real car again, which it hasn't felt like in a looooong time.
Also, apologies for the wonky positioning of the photo and text in my post above. I posted it using my phone, but now that view it on my computer I see that it came out strange for some reason and I can no longer edit the post to fix it. Anyway, the YouTube video link got kind of garbled above, so here it is again just in case: https://youtu.be/U_1KNiQZEn8
