1970 Indy 500 - L to R: A.J. Foyt, Rick Mears, Al Unser
I, and most kids in our neighborhood, had a "Johnny Lightning" 1:43 scale version of Unser's car back then... to go with our Hot Wheels and Matchbox collections... |

Read this post on "Rare 455 HO 72 LEMANS" thread HERE and when you see the attached photo and story, well IMHO, it belongs here.
"QUOTE by Uncle Judge...Your story reminds me of purchasing a 1969 Trans Am from Mr. October (Reggie) back in 1994. He was very friendly and approachable. He had quite a collection back then and it was the only Trans Am in the entire herd. Lots of rare Chevy's in his museum. Glad to see that he is still very appreciative to fans of all ages! A photo of us with the car when I was MUCH thinner!..." |

Here's are pictures of my dad's Granada Gold '70 Tempest and aunt's Canyon Copper '71 T-37. The first picture is probably around '72, the second '77. The pictures of the '71 were probably taken when new.

Ha! That's my aunt when she was probably 16 or 17. If that's not cool enough, my Uncle Greg (their brother) had a '72 or '73 Firebird. I don't have any pictures of that one though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No, that's my older brother. Unfortunately there are no photos (that I know of) with me and that car. I came home from the hospital in that car. It got wrecked in '81 when I was 2, but I remember it on the back of the tow truck in front of house after the accident. I've been enamored with those cars ever since.
