Here a couple of pics that I had been meaning to upload from a few weeks back, but since the picture loading was down, I didn't do it. Yeah, the trophy has an Oldsmobile gas pump on it.

Last week I took the GTO to a Veterans Day show, and it won best GTO. Today we went to a AACA show, and it took Best post WWII car. That is one award that I am very proud of, as that meant I beat out a bunch of cars. My friend Leila from Denmark opted to pose for this picture.

Andre,

Who is that lady on the right, pic 2 of post of post 361?

I think I know her, but maybe it's just a look-a-like. Is she from La.?

We went to a show yesterday in Pompano beach yesterday at the Festival Flea Market, and there was this stripper handing out free drink passes to the local skin clubs. There were over 700 cars in attendance.

This is what the car looked like in the fall of 1980. It did get better in 1981, then went downhill for 24 years

I like that rough look Andre. Why'd you have to repaint it??

I attended the 2009 Wide Track Warrior Car Show in Kissimmee, Florida yesterday. 135 mile trip one way. Car ran well, with no concerns. No appropriate females for car shots, but I think this picture is worth posting.
In a few weeks, I will have had the car back for 3 years, and I have put about 2400 miles on it. Except for the burnt engine paint at the exhaust manifolds, it pretty much looks the same as day 1.

I also attached a couple pictures of a '66 Bonneville Convertible I used to own. I had purchased it from the orignial owners back in 1996. It had 72,000 miles. I sold it to my friend Rick who has put about 18,000 mile on it since 2001.

Andre, tho it's a Olds trophy, it's kinda cool. Congrats! Different than the other regular "dust catchers" they hand out. At least you can relate to it.... all that we drive needs gas. LOL

Hi Andre,

Im glad to see that the Goat is looking great.

Ive got my 66 at the bodyshop now and we are having trouble aligning the Passenger Side fender at the top to the molding that surrounds the front windshield. Too much gap.

My question to you is:

How many body shims did you use to raise the core support on the Goat?

Also could you post a closeup of that passenger side where the fender, cowl & door line up, so I can see the gaps?

Thanks,
Don

I bought the '65-66 diecast console kit from our sponsor and upgraded my console. The plating on the console that was in the car was a solid 8.5-9/10. The new console is virtually perfect. I don't think you can go wrong for the price, especially if you have a automatic base to use.

The auto base and the 4 spd base are the same?

You simply have to cut a small portion of the auto base off. I didn't need to do it on this, but I have done it before. It takes about 5-10 minutes with a "hot" knife. I should have made a template whem I had mine apart. :-(

Yeah, and a pic or two would have been nice too.
My car had the console scavenged out of it before I got it and from the prices I've been seeing, it won't be getting replaced anytime soon. I'd still be curious to see the transformation from auto to manual though. Who knows, I might come across a reasonably price auto unit.

I got an email from one of my club members that got his High Performance Pontiac magazine today. He said the '66 was featured in the magazine. They shot the pics this February after the Wide Track Warrior show. They had asked me to bring it to the studio to shoot it for the cover, but I didn't want to make the 3 hour ride across the state on a weekday to do it.
