I bought this car exactly one year ago, and am just finishing the restoration now. It was a very original car (except for one re-paint) - entire drive train, interior, all body panels - with about 76K miles, and apparently has spent its whole life in Delaware. It came equipped with the 356hp 421, Tri-Power, 4-speed. Fontaine Blue, charcoal blue interior.
First picture is from before I bought it.

I like them like that. Great job!

Another person pulling the motor with the hood on & documented! I did it with the TH 400 still attached. I can't prove it like you can though.

Cool ride.

Default On the Road Again!

Okay, here come the BIG pictures again - nobody told me how to do thumbnails...

After exactly a year, my 2+2 is pretty close to completed, and I got it on the road for the first time last Sunday. Rushed things a bit, because the Keystone Chapter POCI was having a show @ Reading, PA, only 11/2 hours away. I hadn't even cleaned the car yet, but what the hell.

I took a class second to the gorgeous '67 Executive wagon to the left of my car - no shame in that, since he won Best In Show, very deservedly.

BTW, Jim Wangers was there selling books/signing autographs. What a gentleman - very generous with his time - you could see that he really enjoyed being with Pontiac guys, and he made a genuine effort to make every autograph a personal message, unlike some "celebrities". He has a wealth of great Pontiac stories, and obviously delights in sharing them. I wish you all the opportunity to meet with him.

65 Cat -

When they said "please post big car photos" they meant the cars should be big....not the photos....

j/k of course. Your 2 + 2 is gorgeous.

Default 1963 Catalina Help

This is a really cool site with alot of nice rides. Being new to this site I wanted to post a coupe of pics of my new ride and ask a couple of questions.
I bought 2 Pontiacs out of a barn in southern Ohio on 10/30/08.A 1963 catalina 421 HO Tripower 4 speed AC with factory Tach. The car has 46,000 miles and was built in georgia and sold new in Orlando Florida.
My question is where on this site is a good place to get tech help.I have had 2 POCI members look at the car and they think it is original.thanks

Damn! Now that is a car.

You have come to the right place.

First thing is to get a PHS if you don't already have one. Great to know these finds still exist.

Wow, life is good, 19love55 ... and you're obviously doin' some pretty clean livin' to find these.

Congrats!!

The GTO Q&A goes elsewhere on this site...the Catalina stuff goes here.

Suggestion/request: start new threads as questions for the Cat come up (instead of asking within this thread).

Very nice -

That would look sweet pulling one of those new "vintage" Shasta camp trailers...

Can you shoot me a PM (or email me at [email protected]) and tell me a little about your trailer hitch? Thanks,

K

Thanks, not sure what the color is, other than a dark metallic green, as it was painted two owners ago...
