Zone 22 is Houston, Texas.
Zone 8 sure seems to have it's share.

Very neat to see a order form as it would never tell the story of buying a RA II in 68. Just another car out the door.

Purchase order does give a little more character than an Invoice or BHC.
Pretty cool. Original Window Sticker would be way over the top. Couldn't find a date of the actual order on the document. It has approx delivery 8-15 , and first payment due 8-15 , which was August. Then handwritten approx del date as Sept - probably a typo. Maybe there was an agreed time when his dad "wanted" to take delivery. Or they just allowed plenty of leighway in the contract. Car should have been to dealer by June 20'ish. imho Wish my dad would have ordered one - and held onto it. |

Baron:
John passed away 8-9 years ago. Amazed that site is still up. He put out a nice informative booklet. His wife was selling old copies as of a few years ago. Do not know if she still is. Brian

Here's another on for you to run through the spreadsheet Todd - although it's already confirmed.
68 RA II/4spd Firebird, Black on Black, numbers matching except for the transmission, currently being concourse restored.

BVZ, regarding the Knafel RAV GTO:
The 1969 GTO Knafel GTO's were called "Golden Sabres", equipped with RAV's. There were supposedly 12 built. These 1969 GTO's were all ordered in white, had either 3.90 or 4.33 gears, and Hurst Wheels. Bill Knafel had an outfit in Florida repaint them Pearlescent White, and added the gold lettering (in gold leaf) which was all done by hand. The Golden Sabre logo featured a golden sabre (sword) under the handpainted script painted on the front fenders. Knafel had a standing order with Pontiac to take all the RAIII, RAIV, and RAV engines that were not scheduled for production.

The 8-Ball is a Michigan car now Todd, not sure how it was sold new. I thought the numbers looked cheap & zone 16 is in your neck of the woods - Charlotte, NC.

Got caught up in the shop this afternoon, and it was rainning so I didn't go out to my yard to pull parts, so I went through a couple albums of cars that my dad has owned, here are the only pics I found of the black/aqua paint car.
Pics were taken from 1968-1970 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
