The wagon in post #217 is that Jack Mullins' (not sure of the name) car? The wagon with the 389 that ran low 12's and was a National Record-Holder? I believe someone told me that it made it into the 11's. They also told me that it became a repository for beer cans behind his shop.

Also "The Bruiser" '60 wagon. Was that out of DC? I saw a '60 wagon in NE DC that, I believe, ran out of a front-end shop. I'm pretty sure it was "The Bruiser". I only saw it once, when he was trying it out on the street. It pulled the wheels!!! Sometime later I saw Bob's wagon and thought it was it. Was it the same wagon or had Bob done his similarly?

Thanks, Rich

Just scanned this one:

I've always been intrigued by this photo. I'll post why in a little bit.

The photo was taken on the short straightway of the GM Desert Proving Ground, in late 1967 or early 1968. It must have been some kind of press or Engineering event.

Yes - that's Bill Jenkin's '67 SS Camaro (racecar!) putting the hurt on a production (I assume) '68 Corvette.

Dig the skinny neck ties!

Here's another pic of 'da Grump:

The way I came to get that picture: one day when I was working at the DPG I happened to cut through the Administration building and noticed a nice photo montage of historic/vintage pictures. That one caught my eye because I thought that Camaro looked awfully familiar!

I asked the lady in the photo lab if I could get a copy and she very graciously found the negative and made two new prints for me. I've kept it in my files since then.

This is a "background" shot: check out the push car -

Anybody else remember when all the ambulances and hearses were Cadillacs? I am afraid of them even to this day...

Here's an advantage to having a street legal race car: you can use it to tow the golf cart back to the pits if it dies...

Here are some others from the hamb board. Both of these pics have Pontiacs in the far lane, I do not know who they are. Anyone know?

Here's me at the tender age of 10 at the 1971 Beeline Dragway AHRA Winternationals next to a slingshot with an injected Tempest. Just dreaming of the day when I can get my own. I guess you could say it is in my blood.
