The old man had 'em...it was also the style at the time along with "continental kit" and the cheese grater hood...

Personally wish I was of driving age during the side pipes era...

In the 70's you mostly saw them on Corvettes. The early 67 Corvette is beautiful with them, but I also heard they would burn your leg if you had shorts on.

69 Firebird with an emphasis on fire at $2600 BIN in Illinois. The only think of value on this car is potentially the engine, and there's only one engine picture, so you can't see the head casting. Does have PFB and the nose, but unless you need that, not worth it IMO. If you do need that, worth it, but then you have to get of what's left.

69 Firebird in Nebraska at $35K BIN. This car is a good example of a Gen 1 with the 17" aftermarket Rally II's. I like the way they look, but I think stock Rally II looks better. JMHO.

The problem with 14's and 15's is all you can usually get is overpriced, ancient compound rubber - looking at you BFG.

16's are getting rough - 17" is now the smallest diameter you can get decent tires that fit our cars.

Agree it's a better performance option with the 17's. I don't really drive my cars much, which is why I don't care about actual performance vs. authenticity. There's no wrong answer.

72 Luxury Lemans in AZ at $22K BIN. It's a sharp car and looks great in blue. The rear wing detracts without the GTO hood. Nice looking 14 X 7 Rally II's.

rear bumper looks "jacked"
like what happens when you use the "for emergencys only" bumper jack
I do like it tho

1966 Pontiac Parisienne convertible in Florida at $12.5K BIN. That's a very fair price for this car. Been in storage and the 283 Chevy engine doesn't turn over. 12 Bolt with a sway bar, those crafty Canadians put their spin on it for sure. The Canadian cars typically used the Chevy steering wheel with a Pontiac logo, but this looks like a Pontiac steering wheel.

There sure is plenty of room to work on the Full Size Canadian Pontiac's engines. I would be tempted for that price if it where local to me, Kinda glad it isn't.

78 Black Trans Am in Oklahoma at $1K NR. No engine and it's been outside for some time. Lots of great parts like 4WD, PS and body parts.

That Parisienme really is nice for that price. The 283 would go on a stand for safekeeping though.
