I bought the 73 SD system for my car from Gardner..( my car is a 73 with round ports) around 1400 with the new tips, no resonators. fit like a new GM part when I used to install the originals at the dealership, circa late 70's. Its nice to call a place, and the phone is answered by.. the owner, who knows what your talking about.

I'll be calling both of them to see what they can do and which is more realistic. Thanks for all the input.

With both Bob and Bruce saying they don't include the resonators anymore I wouldn't be surprised to find you go with the the Parts Place system. That's a shame too. The Gardners are high quality and aluminized inside and out. I fully expect them to be one part that never needs replacing again.

Talked to Eric Gardner this morning and received a price of 1620 for complete system including resonators.
He is going to send me pictures and details. Sounded like a great guy and answered all my questions and then some.
Will see what Parts Place says next???

Do Gardner or any other maker's systems have the flattened out places that the original exhaust have?

Gardner only sells exhaust systems they have an original of, that they have blueprinted, to ensure its identical. If the original has a flat spot at the cross member, Gardner's does. The stock factory exhaust was lower on the pass. side and so is Gardner's.( on RA cars anyway). Its put on back to front with clear silicon, clamps, hangars and couldnt be more straight forward. The factory put on the rear muffler and pipes first as well. Just have to make SURE you tell them exactly which manifolds you are running,( Original, R.A.R.E., etc) so its bent correctly and has the proper flanges installed before pipe is bent.
Lastly there was more than one manufacturer of exhaust pipes/mufflers for F body cars during this time period.

Interesting, indeed.

It would be nice to see some pics.
Especially if the body is part of the deal.

Are you going to look at it?

It sold. The engine alone was advertised for $7,500 with the car possibly for sale a little later.

Depending what you read into it - or out of it -

i also thought you would get the whole car , that it was "worded" that way because he did not have a title . You buy the engine - you get the whole bowl of beans.

pure speculation on my part
