LOL! I probably wouldn't do much of anything myself but my wife.......she is pretty insistent....and for good reason as her father was murdered in a home invasion....so she is pretty paranoid.

I have 13 cameras on my property.10 on a DVR system which includes a LP camera which came in handy for putting a perp in jail when he robbed my neighbor behind me.My Ring front door camera alerts me when someone is there.I have 2 wireless game cameras that cover the back yard as it borders a alley.FWIW.Tom

My condolences to the family. That's understandable.

Have a look at this
Having worked in casinos since 1981, I have had the opportunity to acquire familiarity with surveillance.
The cameras have improved greatly, and systems are not beyond affordability. We have purchased several systems from this company for use at work. One for hotel hallways, one for the event center, and two for non-gaming use. My son purchased his own system for home. The systems that we have used lately utilize IP cameras. This way we can install CAT6 Ethernet cable which will provide power and video connectivity. The older method required cabling for video and cabling for power to camera. My son also purchased a PTZ camera like the two we have at work. He configured the PTZ to track any movement by his truck since the catalytic converter was almost stolen. Cameras can be 4K or whatever suits your taste. You can also view from your phone if desired. You can look over all of the systems here: https://www.cctvcamerapros.com/ |

I use Eufy as well they are easy to install and no monthly or yearly monitoring fee. They are self contained units and the app works great on phone. The zoom feature on all 3 cameras is very good as welI. have the door bell cameral which uses the wiring to door bell so it is hard wired. I also have two other cameras on garage that are also hard wired where garage lights would be. You might also need wi-fi extenders to make sure the cameras always have a good signal
