For the 71 Trans ams there is an early and a late date. The originals I copied from had a 69 date code on them and I also made up a later date on some of them of July 70 for the later cars and up. At this time Chuck Henley still has a few left of the batch I made in the NOS material Gates hoses. These pictures are them. When his are gone I will have more ready.

adding another fly in ointment; fortunately both My V.N. built 71's have their build sheets intact, one being a pretty early build (08) and the other later on (02) and both show the exact same two letter codes in their respective box's for the hoses which correlate back to that 3115 number for the upper....not to mention the photo I posted earlier of the 04 built car with what looks to be its as-built-with 3115 upper hose.....in all these examples it appears that NS is correct for at least 1971 and maybe a bit beyond that. ....

Late 72 Trans am also shows "NS NT" on the build sheet.

Maybe its just a Van Nuys plant thing. Anyone else want to chime in with their original hoses? Maybe I will do them too but need to find out more about em.

not necessarily. after 1971 all Firebirds were built exclusively at the Norwood plant, until the end of 1977 I believe....

Well, all of the survivors and original hoses I've seen are the ones I'm making and were mostly Norwood cars. So I think the majority would have this hose and im sure the Judges wouldn't points off for it either way. If I get a large request for the one you have maybe I can do it but like I said, its probably the minority because there were different suppliers.

What judging standards do you address?

The Norwalk?

TA Nats are more of a beauty contest..

Not Norwalk LOL, that's a joke. Hopefully the TA nats will get up to speed one day, I know their working on it. As far as GTO nats, POCI and MCACN go, these should pass.

Are there any Goodyear hose retailers in your area? Last time I checked, those were fairly close.

Fairly close doesn't cut it for me. I've gotten hoses from Dayco, Gates, Goodyear and AC delco and one other off brand and none of them are the correct shape. They will work but whats the point of doing concours correct hoses if their not shaped properly? The Parts Place had 2 listings a few weeks ago on ebay with both the correct and incorrect shape but the one with the correct shape in the pic is gone now so im not sure anyone can even get the right ones anymore.

What's wrong with the Goodyear hoses? Could you post pictures comparing a current Goodyear with an assembly line original?

These are an exact replicate of an original, if you look back at the pictures, 1 of them is an original. However, Chuck Henley still has a few left in the NOS Gates hoses that I did for him, you will need to contact him to get an upper. When he runs out, I will be selling mine. That was our deal, we kinda did this together.

The price for either one is $100 for the upper. I was just saying that the ones chuck has is in the original rubber material that I striped and stamped, they look like NOS. Get em while you can.
