Also,
Since I can't afford to pull the motor, what's the best way to strip the paint in the engine compartment to prep for and how to go about painting? What kind or paint should I get since it will more than likely be from a can?

Take all the chrome trim off using one of those cheap trim removal tools first. Take off all the vinyl you can. Leave the rear glass and windshield in place so that when you use chemicals to clean that F&%^%$ing glue residue off it won't leak onto your headliner or interior. When all is clean remove rear and front glass and clean out all residue glue and rust in channnels repairing with patches etc..I used metal prep on bare metal followed by etching primer before being painted and vinyl put back on. Next time I'll finesse the roof and the hell with the vinyl.

Here's a few pics of my '64 GTO. Rebuilt 400, .30 over, rebuilt '65 Tri-Power, Hurst Shifter rebuilt, all new suspension w/ urethane bushings, 1 1/4" sway bar in the front, 1" in the back, Hotchkis 1" drop springs, KYB shocks. Body bushings replaced. Frame, firewall chemically stripped and repainted. Core support, inner fender wells, blasted and repainted. A-arms blated and powder coated. Steering box rebuilt, front disk brake conversion, Dash bezel restored. I'm getting sick of working on it! I want to drive it! Almost ready to go

Jim, the car is Gulfstream Aqua. The driver's door and fender have not been buffed out yet in the picture. We're getting close, though.
