Power washed the bottom floors and removed the factory applied Ziebart rustproofing/undercoating.
I am grateful the original owner decided to get this done. I think it saved the car since it’s rock solid with no rust whatsoever But I also regret it because it’s an ugly nasty job to remove. Spent a day removing the undercoating and plan on dusting new red oxide primer soon . |

Under car is stripped of undercoating, cleaned and original red oxide primer now showing. Original exhaust system, converter and mufflers still in great shape. Rear axle cleaned and detailed

What are you using for the exhaust, behind the converter???
I've read about some of the exhaust tubing being double walled, and being restrictive inside when the tubing was bent??? I'm also interested in how the 2 pipes are hooked together behind the converter. Wondering if these new pipes are better manufactured than original, AND less restrictive??? Now that I just read about re-using the original exhaust, disregard my questions...

It was in PA. It only has 26K original miles so most likely wasn’t driven in the winter on salty roads
It was in a garage all its life as well. When the owner passed away the family move the car outside and the past five years has taken a toll on it |

Stripped all the under coating off the plastic duct for the air cleaner and sent to my buddy that works in the plastics industry. He refinished then to look new again.

Car was painted original Marti Blue last month and paint is finally gassing out so I can apply the decals soon. I begun putting parts back on the car like tail lights, spoiler, door handles and locks, weatherstripping, etc. but cant put the front clip on till I fire up the car and make sure no issues first.

Spent a good long week to disassemble the front bumper and fascia.
I scored NOS grilles and a NOS red arrowhead too. Not much more then buying repro parts actually. I found some cool inspection marks too on the inner bumper and also the headlight assm. looked like the date and 3rd shift maybe? |
