Thanks Jon for the lowdown on your '74. That is pretty neat what you did to the 350...more like a RAIV 350 than an HO, especially with aluminum long branch manifolds!? Am I reading that right??? I'm thinking more in the Pure Stock Drags vein with all part numbers correct and a 1.5 increase in compression (9.1:1 max.). I imagine your lil' BSG GTO runs high 12's at 108 mph, or better!

I just read on Hemmings that Joe Oldham died last Thursday.

Aaron65 - Sorry to hear about Hoe Oldham's passing. His recent book with the tests he wrote about is a fun read. He will be missed.
Some more about the 350HO motor's, Dan rebuilt an original '69 HO out of a '69 LeMans TH400 car/3.55 gears with the 067 cam, 10.6 actual compression and factory exhaust manifolds. On the dyno with the original Qjet it pulled a best of 348 hp/403 tq. With A-body RA manifolds it made 355 hp/411 tq. We wonder what the 068 cam would make... Dennis |

We also had a '74 Duster 360 (245 net hp) automatic/3.55 gears at the race in 2015 that went a best of 14.086 @ 96.97 mph and weighed 3510 lbs with driver. The calculated rwhp was 250.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the Limefire but if I was going to order one new with a loud color, it would be the Fernmist Yellow, hands down. I'm a blend in with the crowd kind of guy, so my first choice would've actually been code 44 Lakemist Green, so I could also have one of less than 20 or so. |
