Im starting to hear a noticeable roaring noise when my 05 wheels are turned to right or left and moving.

Just over 4,000 miles.

Anyone have link to the strut problems?

Dump that ricer crap on eBay NOW! these items won't be popular much longer. Our cars are now "old", so if they are getting big bucks, go for it.

I was cleaning out the shop and ran across my stock spoiler. I figured I'd eBay it, but thought I should see what others were getting. Just so happens a BRAND NEW IN THE BOX (as in, from the dealer, never installed) stock spoiler was up for auction. I watched it sell for the one and only bid - $10.50. After that, I obviously can't sell it (and I can't bring myself to throw it away either), so back in the attic it goes.

Default tire/strut rub?

Have you taken a good look at the inside of your front tires and the struts to affirm that there is rubbing? If there is wear, take the car to a Pontiac dealer for a thorough checkout and have them replace the tires, as needed, and do a front end alignment to correct the problem. Hopefully they won't give you any problem with warranty work since the tire rubbing/strut problem is quite well documented.
Let us know what happens.
I have an '05 with nearly 10K and no problems with this particular complaint. I also keep after the tire pressure (running 35 psi) on a regular basis - and rotation every 5K (it's just about due for that now). Helps with gas mileage and reduced tire wear. Admittedly, 35 psi is a little high for stop-light to stop-light racing traction, but not for all around cruising, especially at elevated speeds. The tires stay cooler (believe it or not) at higher pressure. Don't exceed the manufactiurers recommended maximum pressure.

I just have to jump in and say...anyone who badmouths the '04-'06 GTOs has either never driven one, or has a whole different set of expectations than I have. I don't own one yet, but I will! I was waiting for them to come down a bit more in price (at least I was hoping they'd come down more). Perhaps when the new camaro and Challenger come out.
I drove a Black M6 and was blown away by the power, ride, and especially the fit/finish of it. I want to drive an A4 before I buy one, the M6 was super easy to drive, but with years of lower back issues, I don't know if I'll be able to drive it longterm.
I've always thought they looked sharp, in a comtemporary sort of way (although the spoiler will be removed and stored right away), and I was glad to see Pontiac waited for a worthy car to revive the name. Well, that's my 2 cents.

If you test drive an A4, get one that has been tuned. The factory TCC programing along with the torque management cripple driveability in the A4. The first thing I did was a Predator handheld tuner, night and day difference.
I love my automatic.

How, exactly, do you feel the TM cripples driveability in the A4? I own both an '04 and '06 and I find no driveability problems at all. Both were purchased brand new with less than 15 miles on the odo so I doubt any aftermarket tuning applied to them. Maybe I'm just easier to please than most but seriously, I see no need for additional tuning. I've heard people complain about the M6 as well but I owned an '05 M6 for about 17 months and thought it was just fine as well.

One thing I have noticed about the '06 (and I'm sure it applies to the '05 as well), the shifts are more aggressive and anything above light throttle will cause neck-snapping. There's a definite difference between the '04 and '06 shift calibration.

I love my A4's too!

When I first got my '06 it felt like a dog, the 1-2 shift at part throttle was at 10mph and the TCC locked up right away, I felt like a manual in the wrong gear. The car felt handicapped, I got the predator tuner which released the strangle hold on my car now it feels like it should have in the first place. JMO

The TM drops alot of timing before shifts to "save" the tranny(warranty). The stock shifts are very soft. Dropping those made mine 04 much more comnsistent and fun to drive. In good cool air 13.66 @ 100-101.

In the heat before the tune there was over 0.5 second in varition in times even cooling it off between runs.

In Tampa a GTO is one of the fastest street cars around.
He traps in the high 130's with a stock suspension and street tires on a safe tune.

If I can get him to the track I'll see just how quick he is...

In fact over the weekend he put down 607 RWHP at a local shop... Very impressive.

Some of the guys at LS2 GTO site post their builds and et numbers. Impressive times for street friendly cars, some running AC still.

Cheapest way to go fast these days. Fraction of old school aspirated builds from what i have read.

Most of the local guys are dyno queens and have some good numbers but don't go to the track. These things are hard to hook and not get wheel hop or start breaking half shafts. Some pretty good numbers with some big cams stil running AC!

I know who he is from LS1GTO.com. His car is very fast, and your right, he loves to race. You should check out some of his videos. There is also a guy over there called loboost, he just put down 797hp to the rear wheels with a twin turbo setup, and he drives it like he stole it.

797, WOW that's impressive!

I've seen most of the videos, Danny (Mofobucs) does 99% of the filming of the races.
There is a group of GTO's that prowl around the Tampa area that are flying!

We had a local Old VS New GTO shootout at a dragstrip a couple of years ago and its amazing what those cars were pulling. Ill bet those mods were pretty expensive though.

A bunch of us (35-40 new GTOs) met in Vegas last weekend. Loboost was there. His car is a work of art. It sounds like a freaking jet and it's crazy fast.

i to love my 06 its the best car i have owned to date and i have owned quit a few muscle cars.it routinally averages 17-18 mpg around town and mid 20s on the highway its a 6spd and its hard to drive the thing and not get on it its just does that to ya. and i have taken it to the track a few times its a bit hard to launch and i dont want to burn off my tires so no burn outs and when the light turns green i pull out as hard as i can with out spinning the tires and go like he--.best et so far is 13.8 @ 102mph.i have had faster mphs but still need more seat time to get better ets my 60 foot times is where i loose mostly because of the way i launch.plan on getting some drag bags and drag radials for next year then i will launch harder.

That's the one weak point on these cars, traction. Bag and drag radials will help a lot, you should be near 13.2 stock.

One plus down here in Texas is the A/C even with a black interior will flat freeze your a$$ off. Best A/C I've ever had in a vehicle, definitely better than a black T top TA!
