I always thought the doors and trunk used the same key and the ignition and glove box used the other. Wish I had the car at home to check. I remember once back then being told by the older crowd it was to prevent you from opening a locked glove box while driving to pull out a bottle.

No, Doors & Ign. Trunk & Glovebox/Console.

You gave the valet the Ign key only.

A friend who is deceased now owned this car back in the late 70's. I bought it from his widow. He was a couple of years behind me in school. He drove it for 4-5 years and blew the engine. Tried to buy it from him about 15 years ago. I think it had a 428 or 421 in it when he drove it. I think that's what I'll find the block is. Would be nice if it was a WS. It had been sitting behind another friends house out in a field for about 25 years. I got a storage locker full of parts with it. It is originally a std front end, but I have a nearly complete hidden headlight front end that came with it. I'm glad to find the ram air stuff and there is a bunch of the stainless trim in the trunk as well.

Lol.... covered it.

OE key blanks, locks for sale about everywhere. I wouldnt think many would care if not "born withl" keys. Probably find a complete set off a parts car these days.

I'm glad you posted pics. That's a little treasure in there. This was like all the guys on a block standing around suggesting ideas on opening it.

So what is it?

How did you end up getting it open?
There were so many ideals I just wondered which worked for you.

Never thought a block would fit in the trunk and still be able to get the lid to shut unless I saw it myself. Now I know!
