Thanks Mark. I will stick with the mig on the horizontal surfaces. As you noted the Fuzor may just be the ticket around the wheel openings and perhaps on the vertical (e.g. Running along the door jamb) - albeit I plan to stay at least 1/2 inch from the jamb to preserve the factory door jambs.
I have heard about spray-on. Would be interesting to see some pictures. Also spoke to the gentleman at Dagger Tools (at Carlisle in 2010). He said the small oxy-acetelyne gas torches can be used to weld (with hammer/dolly). The dolly can be used to shrink or stretch the medal as it cools (which according to him) oxy-acet welds cool much slower then mig. You can still work the metal whereas with MIG it cools much too fast. I bought the small torches just don't have enough practice to feel comfortable hammer-welding. I guess that is yet another option? Cheers, Brian. |
