Heres the 295 on snowflake rims on my 72.

72 Firebird, sorta green, mostly gray with a red trunk lid.

I'm running B F Goodrich radial TA's 295R50/15's on eight inch snowflakes. Guess this is a good time to see if the camcorder takes a good digital picture.. I'll see how they turn out and post one.

I have 17x8 17x9.5 Americans on two of my T/As and 15X8 15x7 Ralley II's on my blue car with no rubbing at all. All three cars are lowered 2" all around.

gck, on the white '70 I'm running 17x8fw/5"bs, 17x9.5rw/5.5bs. One the red '73, 17x8fw/4"bs, 17x9.5rw/5"bs. I wanted a more aggressive look on the red car. The white car is actually a little lower than the red car and it I don't think less backspacing would clear. I have 2" Hotchkis front springs and dearched rear leafs w/1" lowering block in rear. You cannot jack the car up from the crossmember because the jack won't go under the front spoiler, never tried to go over any speed bumps.

The tires were cupped because a 275 tire is really made for a 8 inch wide rim. It works fine but it just causes the center to wear out faster.

They were on the '71 T/A when I first got it. The previous owner planned to do some strip racing so he wanted the biggest footprint possible using 15x7 honeycombs.

I never had any rubbing problems but the '71 doesn't have much of a bump in the wheel well for the seatbelt mount. The tires are long gone and I switched back to stock sized 235/60/15s so I have no way to test on the '73. My '73 does have 245's and has no rubbing problems.

It was running el-cheapo worn out Monroe shocks and a fairly new set of 5-leaf springs in the back so it was pretty jacked up in the air.

I'm a purist so I'd say redneck . After I got the car payed off I went out and put the closest size available to the original Goodyear Polyglass GT F60's which is a P235/60/R15.

I've owned the blue '70 for 11 years, bought it from the original owner in Dallas TX. The only option on this car is A/C. The paint is 18years old and has never been restored. I rebuilt the motor 4 years ago, ported the stock heads, ram air IV cam, Dougs headers, lowered 2" all around.
The white '70 I bought from the third owner. It has power windows, tilt, A/C, deluxe blk interior and rear window defrost. It was painted last year and the motor has never been out. It has only 64k original miles. It's been lowered 2" all around and has 17" American CL200's.
I bought the red '73 from the daughter of the original owner from southern Ca. He passed away and she ended up with it. It has power windows,tilt, a/c,rear console and am/fm stereo. It had the original paint on it when I got it. The body was perfect. The interior was so nice, all I had to do was to put carpet in it. I also dynamatted the whole interior and doors. I did a frame off restoration on it. I built a 462ci. motor from a '71 HO block, Eagle crank/rods, Edlebrock heads, RPM manifold,custom ground cam, Holley HP950, Doug's headers(coated), Torque Tech 3" exhaust, subframe connecters, lowered suspension, 17" American CL200's. It has a automatic in it now, but I ordered a complete 5spd conversion from Keisler. Motor dynoed 557hp/612tq.

Hi street king nice firebirds. I was wondering on the 17x9.5 american racing rims what back spacing did you use? And where did you get your suspension from? With the 2 inch drop can you still go over speed bumps and can a floor jack fit under the cross member to jack the car up?

I am currently runing 15"x8" snowflake wheels, and was wondering if 275/50-15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's will fit ok? I am concerned about the tires hitting the innerfenders. I currently have 255/60-15's and they seem to fit fine.

I am considering at some point in the future of going to 15"x8" Ralley II wheels. Does anybody know how much these weigh compaired to the 15"x8" Snowflakes?

It is hard to find high-perf tires for 15" rims. Are the BF Goodrich T/A's the best we can do?

'73 Firebirds have rear seat belt retractors so there is a hump in the wheel well that the tire might rub on. I know my dad had to hammer the hump in when he switched to 16x8 GTA rims.

isn't a 275-50-15 a little short?

on a 15x8 a 275-60-15 will fit just fine without rubbing.

Other tire options are the Nitto 555r's avaliable in 275-60 and 275-50..

the bad part is they don't make a matching 555 for the front.
