Did they keep track of colors for the Trans Am in 70-72? From my tracking over the years almost all 72's where Blue. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Is this really true? I had no idea that the majority of '72 TA's were Blue. My brothers '72 is a White on Blue, 4 speed, with AC.

I'm pretty sure my 72 T/A with WD coded block came with the unitized distributor.

I wish he had posted the VIN.
I might have the motor out of that car. During the early 80s, I picked up a couple of early T/As with bad motors. Since they weren't very valuable at that time, I just stuck a regular 455 in and used them as drivers. I've had five 72 4-spd cars over the past twenty years. Three were white and two were blue. One thing I've never understood about 72 T/As is what determined which engine code was used. I've seen both YE and YB blocks in automatics, and WD and WM in manuals. Anybody know the answer to this? Unlike pmdclassics, I haven't seen that many Lucerne Blue TA's let alone 72's.
I think that they are so rare that they were collected/restored more than the white ones. Probably drove less also.
