I used to plug the Filter bypass..now only sometimes block the bypass depending on:
The oil filter being Large&Remoted or justsa PF24 on the adapter.

Forgot to mention that part. I believe the bypass valve in the o/f adapter lets unfiltered oil thru on acceleration. I installed a 5/16 plug in place of the disc. I have heard this can cause a cheap filter like Frams to blow out. I never tried this with an 80lb pump. Anyone else do this and what are your thoughts?

The bypass valve will open if there is a high DIFFERENTIAL pressure across the filter. As in a clogged filter, or a restrictive filter for the amount of flow. The system pressure (ie 60# or 80# or whatever) has no bearing on the bypass opening. If the filter were a zero percent restriction, you would have the same pressure on both sides of the bypass valve. That's my take on it. I don't block the bypass.
